Up Hither
Up Hither
In my Father’s house are many mansions.
It is a sad day indeed, when we lose the last of our two parents. And after the fog of grief lifts, it’s a rather anxious day. Wherever you are in life, there is a snap of sorts. A twang of release in the spirit. Much like the blow-bubble, when at length it breaks free of it’s blow-wand. Severed from it’s source…alone now…adrift upon the wind. So also does our spirit become ever about that wind; sensing it’s movements…and whether it be a good wind, or an ill wind blowing.
Such a vagabond is that man, who leaves the relative comfort of the issues of life, to confront the prophecies of God. He steps off from familiarity and structure, into the winds of the spirit of God.
Our magnificent creation sort of defines the term: “a tough act to follow.” Still today, we’re trying to figure it all out. But that this Almighty Creator would then speak to man…not from clouds or mountaintops, but through men’s mouths…tops even his great creation. It truly is, as:
Apples of gold in pictures of silver.
So then step off we must, if indeed prophecy was given to be searched out. And many are the searchers today. Skilled men. Noble men. Searching the scriptures to unlock these mysteries. There are television shows, devoted to naming what nation meaneth this beast, or which king meaneth this horn. Even in our Lord’s day, the pulse of man’s spirit within cried:
When shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And so 2,000 years later, the search continues. By the very design of prophecy; the test of a searcher is the same, as that of a prophet. Searchers from the East hazarded a far journey, based only on their search…that Messiah is born. Yet the nation of searchers to whom the oracles were committed, crucified him. Time will be the judge, whether a searchers words are true.
This book of Revelation has been at man’s fingertips for hundreds of years now. Sitting on a coffee table, on a bookshelf, or in a nightstand drawer. Ever available to all men…or at least to you. And though it be free, there is one small string attached. It is every man’s duty to tell his world, what the book of Revelation means.
At this late hour…seven years from the start of great tribulation…all of Revelation’s key players are about in place. The Lord is ready, having finished preparing a place for us. His angels of nature and judgment are ready, and taking their posts. Heaven and earth are ready. God’s marvelous timeplan…conceived before the earth was made…is winding down to the end of Day Six, and the dawn of Day Seven.
These things being so; may we enter this final book of the bible, with our eyes wide open. Aware of the world we live in, and it’s great departure from the doctrine of God. Conscience of the spiritual nature of these 22 chapters, and submitted to it’s consequence…of being disqualified from understanding them. For we…as John…must be shown.
Only our new birth…His spirit within us…can grasp these pages he has written. And to teach them to us, he requires of us, a full well. Deep in the knowledge of scripture, Hebrew, and Greek. Schooled in a broad range of history, science, culture, government, finance, and human nature.
Above this, we should be fully engaged in life…loving, working, battling. And we should be awash in a born again holiness, a strong faith, and an even stronger love. If our well be full of these things, then hath the Holy Ghost somewhat to draw from…as we…with John:
Come up hither, and I will show thee…
