Re: For those who want to know...RULES at my churc

Reading the posts here make me so glad I dropped out of church years ago. You people are so holy! And so self-righteous! I was a graduate of Texas Bible College, 1974. One of the reasons I finally left church, was the fact that the president of the college, E L Holley, was teaching that the God-head was composed of God the Father and God the Son, with his own separate spirit and mind! I was the only student to try to stop this heresy, but unfortunately, after I contacted the Texas board, I found out that many of them taught the same way! As concerns the other students, they were afraid to say anything for fear of not getting their licenses! I do have a question. Are they still teaching this down there? Has anyone over the years done anything about it?
Years later when I went to the graduation of my daughter in law at IBC, Arless Glass, one of my old teachers was preaching the message, "Your rewards are on earth, not heaven". You should have heard the talk after that!
Your standards are a joke. I remember that the girls were required to put their hair up. It was not allowed to hang down. But I recall that a woman's hair is given as a veil (which hangs down) and that Jezebel put her hair up!
Anymore your religion is more about your standards than any gospel. Remember all the laws the Jews came up with? You are following the same path. And finger pointing at members who do not meet your standard is not the right of a Christian. Jesus said in a parable, not to pull the tares, they would be separated at the harvest, and judge not lest ye be judged.
The real Bible way is not a task or a drudgery and it never was intended to be. Maybe you people are not reading the correct parts of the Bible. Or maybe you only see what you want to.
Well, I finally decided that if God did not have a church on earth, he did not have a heaven in the sky. I have no fear of my future. But, if you really believe in God, I think I would be shaking in my boots for lack of respect for your religion, your cowardice, and blind eyes. You make me sick!

When you refer to "you people" and "you make me sick!", is this directed at all of us?

Re: For those who want to know...RULES at my churc

There has been a lot of intellectual dishonesty posted in this thread.

The truth is most Apostolic churches are very bound by legalism. They initially accept people as they are but, over time, they began to expect conformity. When a convert refuses to conform they are treated as second class church members.

Posters express incredulity at the rules in the opening post, and say they are legalistic, but the same posters are members or leaders in churches which have very rigid "platform standards."

Those platform standards are often very close to the rules originally posted.

The idea that someone can't sing, or teach, or lead, because they dress differently than the generation of our grandfathers is nothing short of ridiculous.

Many attempt to justify those rules as pastoral preferences but most of the time the rules go far beyond preferences. They are used to ascertain who is in the body of Christ and who is not.

Let me ask you one question, and then I think you will have my answer.
The doctrine of a dual godhead is probably still common in Texas. Do you plan to do anything about? Does anyone? And your oneness doctrine is SOOO IMPORTANT!

I live in Texas. Not common. I have a hard time believing it ever was.

I would have to see evidence that Bro. Holley actually believed that. As far as I can tell, it is the opinion of one individual that sounds like he has a vendetta. If he does not, then he is overly harsh in his critique.

Dual Godhead... nice term I have never heard of before.

Would this mean they believe the Father and Son are two persons in the Godhead?

I suppose it goes without saying we all believe the Son was God, and the Father was God as well?

Holley taught this dual God-head doctrine for years. I know from personal experience that many students believed what he said. Oneness is the most important doctrine of your church. I would think that anyone who learned of any suggestion that there was this kind of heresy being taught in the church would immediately be up in arms to investigate. But like you, no one cares, not then, not now. I think it is only important for your church to control the length of a woman's dress and the makeup she wears. Your priorities are disgusting. Isn't it so interesting that on this board there was a big discussion about a possible split of the church over "Standards". I would think a split of the church over the God-head would make more sense. What is important? Your church is lazy, bigoted, cowardly and hypocritical. If your population of people were the ones to go to heaven, I certainly would not want to be there. Anyone who would read what you people have posted here would never think of joining your church.
