Going a different route and playing guitar a little, how in the world do you chord on that incredibly ssmall neck? And is there any comparison in finger placement?

Cool... what's the brand of their mandoline? That will be something to hang onto, and they would be very proud if you'd learn to play it...

You can chord the mandoline, but it sounds better to pick it.. it's tuned like a fiddle. You pick the melody and catch, usually a open string next to the one that your playing the melody on. On YouTube, you can look up mandoline lessons. There's some pretty good vidios on it...

Jerry Moon[/QUOTE/ It is a Fender. Funny thing is gramps bought grammy a Martin for aaround $200 and when he passed she sold it for over $2000. I was a little miffed about that to say the least.

Thanks for the info on lessons. You into bluegrass?

The Fender would more than likely bring more than that, but it will be worth more than that to you.

I like every kind of music that there is I think... I especially like blues and Jazz. But with a banjo, it's simply blue grass style... going to get to play the banjo some tonight at a singing I hope...
