Osama Has Won!

Osama has won. Put away the fireworks and the apple pie and Chevrolet because America is no more. Before 911 We were a different country. Though Reaganomics has been eroding our society the attacks on 911 pushed us over the edge. For Osama to win he didn't have to wipe the US off the map he just had to stop America from being America. We now have unwarranted wire taps, pat downs and body searches at airports (even for our kids). Neighbors no longer trust each other especially if one of them is brown. They sneak the coffins of our soldiers in at night and we only see animated images of smart bombs going down a chimney so that we don't see the real cost of war. We are told our elections are fair but private companies count the votes and the Supreme Court has the final say not the people. Now in America the accused can be held indefinitely without being charged. A trial by one's peers and the rule of law once hallmarks of a great nation are regularly suspended if not denied out right. With 85% of Americans claiming to be Christian the actions of America now paint Christianity to be the religion of the conquering consumers. In America now the things that are said about the Muslims and Mexicans are the same things that Nazis said about Jews and Romans said about Christians. Yes Osama has won and he showed he was right when we cowardly went in a killed an unarmed man without a trial.

The America of dreams is no more but remember that all men will know that you are the disciples of Christ if you have love one for another. Protect your citizenship in the one kingdom that pledges its allegiance to you.

While I take issue with the general premise of your post as a whole, the bolded is one ting bin laden did accomplish.

He's not bashing the U.S. as much as he is lamenting the changes our country has gone through.

Our country has changed-- 9/11 was the catalyst for the abolishing of some of our freedom and liberty.

It is attributed to Ben Franklin that the person who is willing to sacrifice freedom for security is not worthy of freedom or security. This poster probably agrees with that sentiment.

I do too.



That poster did not bash the Christian faith.

The argument could be made that much of American Christianity is foreign to most of our other Christian brothers and sisters who pray for us from afar.

I read and re-read his post before responding to your criticisms.


There is racism in America still-- but I have heard from more than a couple of sources that the Arab Muslim is America's new {n-word}.

As far as misplaced anger at Mexicans (as if most illegal immigrants are Mexican), if that's not racism, well I guess there is a strong argument that irrational racial prejudice still doesn't constitute racism.

Either way, Mexicans do bear brunt of that stereotype here in America, despite that the facts paint a different picture.
