Time for some more Elder Westberg!

Just uploaded so I decided I'd share. Apostolic classics. I know people said preaching videos bother them, but "were saved by the foolishness of preaching", so here comes some salvation!!Lol

He was a product of his times and was a great man for those times.

He has a testimony like me, I understand why he was the way he was. Ive grown up and lived immoral my whole life. Wasn't raised in church, ask me about sin I can tell you all about it. But the church is meant to be different. I wasn't looking for something that could blend right in with the world; I've been places like that and where there is no consecration the presence of God is weaker. He honors consecration.

I go to a straight holiness church. Did I grow up like that no. But, I will tell you something there is something in true inward to outward holiness. Either one without the other doesn't work, it has to be 2 fold. I understand not becuase naturally I understand, but the Spirit within me bears witness!

I see why Elder Westberg was the way he was. If he was going to be immoral, and a mediocre believer he would've stayed out in the world. But people are looking for something that can transformation their lives. Not no run of the mill program, and a break from the world, to leave and get back to business as usual. Not all are looking for that, but there are people who are hungry no doubt. Even in this day and hour.

Re: Time for some more Elder Westberg!

I have only listened to one sermon by him in my life and it was enough for me to know that I don't ever want to hear another. I am not going to get into it in detail here since he is deceased and revered by many ultra cons. Just suffice it to say I did not hear anything approaching love and compassion come out of his mouth.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

CC1 couldn't resist. I could only imagine CC1 listening to Elder Westberg to be like a gator biting a hunk of meat. Eyes white, second lid up, rolling in the water foam, with tail thrashing. Just like an alligator can't resist a leg shank. CC1 can't resist a Parthian shot to an old ultra con.

CC1, you should of just left it alone. That's how gators don't end up in sauce piquant.

I consider I left it alone because I did not say what I really think.I just expressed in a generality my opinion of what I heard and that it is not my cupe of tea.

CC1, OK, so you did hear Elder Westberg have love and compassion come out of his mouth.

Not telling us what you really think?
