Are You Planting A Food Garden?

Gas prices soaring & food prices expected to head up, are any of you planting a food garden & if so what are you planting?
My wife has a small garden with peas, carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, lettuce, celery & green onions.
We even had a corn stalk but alas someone vandalized it.

Re: Are You Planting A Food Garden?

I've been pricing pots and such for patio gardening. I love gardening and my patio is faced perfectly for container gardening. I just need the funds before I start buying what I need. I'm hoping to do a barrel of potatoes. I'll probably actually grow them in a light colored large trash can. I'm also hoping for tomatoes and cucumbers (from a hanging pot or two), peppers, and various herbs.

My first year NOT to plant. Too much back pain from the injury and way to busy with life.

I will still do lots of flowers though.

When I had a real garden, I always planted squash. Zucchini, crookneck, patty pan, spaghetti.

Re: Are You Planting A Food Garden?

I would consider planting a garden. Alas, I live in a community where the only things that seem to grow in the soil are sin, buildings, bad politics, and taxes.
