The 200 curse!!!

It seems to me, that many UPC churches are cursed with never being able to get their attendance above 200. Why is this...???

What is your opinion on large UPC churches (1000+)..??? There aren't many, believe it or not.

Do you think there will ever be mega UPCI churches..??

It has nothing to do with UPC. It's a growth-barrier for every church.

Re: The 200 curse!!!

Is it a curse that many people today do not have large families. Why do many today want a large congregation. Large families make bigger churches. Some seem to want mega churches, but do not want to contribute much to it themselves.

I think most studies show that the largest mega churches are independent charismatic

When all else fails we can move our baby-making operation to a commune in East Texas.

One of the rules will be that you have to name every child with the same first letter within a given family. Oh wait, it doesn't need to be a rule since they tend to do that anyways.

Why would anybody be happy with a church that isn't growing?? I'm talking about the churches that have been the same size for the past 30 to 40 years. There's something going wrong if this is the case. There are many churches like this today.

Re: The 200 curse!!!

Actually it is true that 200 seems to be a barrier for whatever reason. And for whatever other reason once you break it, growth beyond seems relatively easy.
