This isn't Bro. Epley but I can - Bob.
There, I named him. Are you happy now?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Thanks, but it really is an important point. Just about all of the OP orgs have statements that exclude sincere Christian believers (not to mention the wayward backslidding hair bobbing charismatic types) from salvation.
We really need to question this tendency to isolate ourselves from other believers. There are important issues to rally around - but the body as a whole is weakened and ineffective when all of its parts keep chopping off the other parts.
If it's unscriptural to fellowship in any way with "Trinitarians" - then it would be wrong for me to try and solicit their support in opposing a new abortion mill in my community. And in the end, the abortionists win. The list of the good we could do together is almost endless.
It's kind of hard to look them in the eye and do any good when every public statement we've ever made throws them into the same hell fire as the pornographers, rapists and murderers in the city.

Not only did we have knock down drag out church but we baptised many new converts into the Body of Christ in Jesus Name and plenty received the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I was floored by the wealth of knowledge that both Segraves and Bernard had and everyone in attendance can agree to that.
This morning I led praise and worship and when I tell you the Power of God fell in the Temple. It was amazing. People were running to the altar repenting, getting filled all before the Word of God was even preached. I can tell you this much (since I am new to UPCI) Atlanta West Pentecostal Church is not your typical UPC church in that I mean we just dont preach doctrine, we preach to the WHOLE MAN and its no ones fault but your own if you did not get something from this doctrinal conference. To have a man of God like my Pastor who labors day and night for God and His people is just amazing. When you walk into our sanctuary, we litteraly look exactly like what heaven will look like....MULTICULTURAL.
With that said, next week once we tally the numbers and come back from Youth Congress, I'll have a more accurate number of how many people got saved. I can tell you this, I did see some familiar Atlanta Pastors in the audience so it was apparent to me that our witnessing technique worked.
All in all, we had KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT CHURCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Segraves even said this morning after we "cut up" that if he was in driving distance to AWPC he would make our church his new church home.

Re: Doctrinal Conference 2009 (Atlanta West)
I love this multi quote feature. This is the quote I asked Epley about. Notice the backpeddling.

Epley starts out by suggesting every scripture indicates everyone was baptized in Jesus name. Now if you read his recent post, he backtracks and says a pattern suggestthe pattern is clear. In reality, in a few situations, we have to assume that is the case.
I agree with the assumptions that the examples I mentioned were baptized in Jesus name. I will not misrepresent scripture by saying that scripture says everyone was baptized in Jesus name. Pardon me for being too honest in religion. I refuse to manipulate words to suggest the Bible says something it doesn't.
There are other ways to prove the need for baptism other than suggesting the Bible says EVERYONE was baptized in Jesus name, when it doesn't say so.

The inferences in the Epistles Rom. 6;3, Gal. 3:27, 1Cor 6:11.
The Apostles were NOT like false teachers today who did one thing in one city and another way in another city.
There are NO Christians who have not been baptized in Jesus Name!

Granted one must call on the name of Jesus for salvation.

The name of Jesus must be invoked at baptism to recieve remission of sins.

The you don't believe in the PATTERN? I believe the command was obeyed as recorded. When it doesn't say it is understood because of the Pattern.
