You make a good argument for your case Timmy, I can see why you are where you are.
Have you ever studied the blood? The covenant God had with Israel?
Have you ever considered the things he did, without doubt but with desire?
I'm just asking, because I don't know you. And I don't know the path that led you to the place you are at now.
You won't find me arguing with you, I wouldn't want to leave my fate up to chance though.
Thanks! It's good to have open discussion about such things, eh?
I have studied the Bible for many years, without doubt and with desire to learn what it offered. With the commitment that I mentioned before. It was not until much later in life that I began to entertain any doubts.
There's an interesting thread about the "folly of an open mind". I understand the sentiment behind it. It is dangerous to be open to other, contrary ideas! I mean, look what happened to me!
You say you wouldn't want to leave your "fate up to chance". But that's exactly what you and all OPs (and non-OPs) are doing! You have chosen one of the many possible spiritual paths. You think you have chosen correctly, of course. But so does everyone else. In fact, some of the folks on other paths are just as convinced as you are.

Has Lassie ever bitten you while reading scripture?
Never! Is it a sign?
Quote:
If you don't believe it all, how can you believe any of it?
See, here's what I don't get. Where is the logic behind this assertion? Why is it not possible for part of the Bible to be true and part of it not true? Is it 2 Tim 3:16? But again, that doesn't spell out what writings are being referred to.

Jesus came to this earth and splt time in half... There is no other door.
I'm glad we can have this discussion, but at the same time it saddens me.

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Gods ways are not MANs ways, therefore we will encounter some conflict in understanding all of it, I rejoice in what I do understand and simply it can be summarized in that JESUS died for ME to atone for MY sins, and anyone else whom will: believe, obey acts2:38, receive the Holy Ghost, allow Him to teach one 'all things' from glory to glory, decreasing SELF so that He may increase; to do any less can lead one to veer off the "narrow" path.,
I do not desire to be one of those., this more abundant life is too precious to risk thinking I might be smarter than GOD and/or the ones whom GOD inspired to write His WORDS for us to read eons later.
