The older I get, and the more I see, I am completely turned off by organizational bureaucracy. It is a stench in God's nostrils and destroys many lives.
It is equatable to the money-changers in the Temple.
Perversion in its worst form.
Countless front-line men and women give their lives to God's kingdom daily. Their time, their careers, their money, their family, only to have a hierarchy tell them they need to give more, and more, and more to support programs that are unwieldy and useless. Programs that line the pockets of "executives" somewhere far removed from the realities of street level ministry.
My prediction is that any new org will mirror everything that currently exists.
Why?
Because men love power.
Bureaucracy hinders the work of God.
It is worthless.
I see it in many orgs across denominational lines, and I am sickened by it.

You've been involved with the Tulsa thread too much haven't ya? LOL!
on the one hand it is the soul of organization and the source of synergy. but it enevitably turns into a self serving beast the consumes the goals behind its creation.
Bureaucracy was the genius of Chinese civilization. However it became China's task master.
I see it as a necessary evil that while needed, needs to be held in very tight check.

How do we get back to the early church structure?
There will always be those who want the preeminence but does that mean we have to be independent as a local church and go it alone to get away from the bureaucracy or can we be part of a group and do our best by the grace of God to influence that group with writings, teachings, preachings, and prayers in an effort to change the group mentality to become more biblical?
