Your summation of Simon and the apostles forgiving him is really foolishness, like I said I nor any Oneness preacher I know believes men can forgive sins.
If you believe you are remitting someone's sins when you baptize them, then you are endorsing a catholic teaching.

Furthermore, you are a fine one to talk about lying when you have repeatedly called me a Trinitarian.

And when did I say the apostles forgave Simon?

I do believe I apologized, so that's between you and God, but didn't you just insinuate that Bro. Blume was some how a catholic priest?

I'm losing a little respect for you Sean. Your whole attitude is typical of someone who is like a deer caught in the head lights. Abiding Now came after me and he was swiftly put in his place. He has repeatedly referred to me as a Trinitarian. Why would you side with a liar?

You call that an apology? You basically said "I'm sorry if that offended you". That's not an apology.

Why are some of my brothers so afraid to think a little? By the looks of it some of yall are still in catholic darkness since you think you can forgive sins like a priest.
I have not read all the posts. Sorry if I missed something. But a straw man is intentional, but my post was not intentionally twisting your view.

Let me get this straight. You are saying baptism is necessary. But you are questioning the mode of baptism when the bible is very plain about it. It is in Jesus' name. The apostles said that over and over again. Are you saying that if the mode is not right there is still salvation?

It's like saying we are told to walk up Main Street to get the Post office, and people walk down Fifth avenue, and they still get to the post office?

It has nothing to do with not thinking.

Invoking the name of Jesus is important. Try casting a devil out without doing so.

I noticed you spoke of the person being baptized does the invoking. What do you say about neither doing the invoking? The Name need not be mentioned?

Didn't like my apology, forget it. But I have not "repeatedly called you a trinitarian", I said you answer/view scripture like a Trinitarian.

Mike, you really need to read my posts. I am not questioning the mode of baptism.

Furthermore, I do not think casting out a living entity is the same as casting out sin. When I baptize someone using the name of Jesus in my proclamation, I'm not saying "Sins I command you to leave in Jesus' name".
