In seeing the trailers I agree. Joker is not a stand up comic. He really is supposed to be a psychotic criminally insane person

He sneers at the rest of the group and with one major jump down upon the kick starter, the bike kicks back hard, and brakes his ankle.
The group gives out a belly laugh, and helps the dude get in a truck to be taken to the hospital.
Voodoo won't jump on you? Why would you be going to their meetings?
We have plenty of Voodoo down here among the Haitians. I will speak with them and invite them to our meetings, but I don't believe I should participate in their meetings. Macumba, Santeria and other occult practices have no power over the Apostolic who doesn't participate, or join together with them.
If you don't join together with Voodoo, Macumba, or Santeria then you are fine to use the authority of Jesus over them. If you participate with these groups you will open yourself up to the spirits that are active among these groups.
When you go to a movie you open yourself to what the movie's emotions, you feel the emotions and become attached to the characters, just like a housewife becoming intimately attached to a Soap Opera. She yields herself totally to the Soap Opera's characters and therefore becomes emotionally attached to the character's situations.
Again, I stress that this is all pretty subtle and over the course of time will affect you in a adverse way.
Be carful little eyes what you see.

If I were to go to a voodoo meeting it would be as an observer, not a participant, so so much for that theory. Also, I won't own a motorcyle unless it has a kick start, so so much for that analogy. Lastly, I am not so naive that I actually think anything going on in movies is actually real, unless it's some sort of documentary, so I don't let myself get caught up in what goes on in them, Brother. If someone can't watch a movie without letting it affect them, then they shouldn't go watch it.

You are correct. He is totally insane yet at the same time will out smart you in a minute. He, Leger, gave a great performance in this movie and beyond him being dead it is seriously worthy of award nominations. I know that people are talking about him getting nominated and I think his performance is worthy of it.

If you are there and not casting out demons, then you are participating.
So much for that idea.

People understand that the Soap Opera actors are just acting, but when an individual becomes involved in a show, or movie, they can actually open themsleves up to the character that the actor is playing.
If a pagan play was being conducted during the time of Christ, would Jesus have gone to view the show?

I started this discussion with you with the idea that it is not blatant, but subtle. That you may think it doesn't affect you, but after you view the movie the affect of the movie is there. I remember when the movie the "Warriors" came out, there was a riot in a few theaters in the city.
It affected those who viewed it.
With the way you think Pornography would have no affect on it's viewers, but advertiser would tell you different.

HOGWASH. That would be like saying that me going to a restaurant that serves alcohol means I drink.
Same thing the guy said with the broken ankle. Next!
Did I say kickstart? I meant to say electric start.

You keep repeating the same thing, using different words, but it still doesn't mean anything.
If a pagan play was being conducted during the time of Christ, would Jesus have gone to view the show?
Who knows? Are you suggesting you can speak for God now and say where He would have and wouldn't have gone? There are warnings in the Bible on trying to speak for God when He isn't doing any talking ya know.

Ok. If a bunch of a people start trying to take over their cities, while wearing clown make up, I will concede that you're right. Until then, it's still just a movie. Even if someone is dumb enough to let themself try to become the Joker, it has no bearing whatsoever on how I react to what was in the movie.
With the way you think Pornography would have no affect on it's viewers, but advertiser would tell you different.
People who watch pornos do so specifically to feed the lusts of their flesh. I seriously doubt anyone is going to go see this movie for ideas on how to become a master criminal and blow up buildings.
Be careful with what you put your peepers to.
Be careful how much credence you give to the power of movies, especially when you are talking to a Holy Ghost filled person. Even if there were some demonic power emanating from this movie, God's power is much stronger.

Brother, this has been fun. I've missed going back and forth with you. It seems like it's been forever. Stick around and maybe we can hash it out on some other, more important, issues.

Re: The Dark Knight
I thought it was a great movie. And thats talking out of both sides of my mouth either. I was just warning anyone that had not seen it, it was not for kids.
I never said it had some kind of demonic meaning to it.

Very true. I actually thought the PG-13 rating was a little soft. I would have given it an R, I think. But of course, extreme violence can slip right through as PG-13, while a couple of F-words in a romantic comedy merits an R. Seems a little twisted to me. We are so sensitive to "wardrobe malfunctions and foul language (as we should be to an extent), but don't flinch when loads of people are killed.
It's the American way

This is an important issue, people shouldn't watch movies like that.
I also missed going and back and forth with you. Looking forward to Xmas when we can take on the whole forum together.
Lord bless you and your family
