Thumbs down The Dark Knight

I can't remember which poster it was. But, anyway he was talking about going to see the movie, Journey to the Center of the earth. Great movie. Go see it.

But, The Dark Knight. Let it be. It is not your average comic book movie. Trust me. Last Weekend, me and my lovely bride, on our date night, went to see it. Great Plot, and acting. But, it is very violent, and twisted, and dark.

Hence the name.................The dark Knight

Was it edifying? Did it promote Jesus Christ?

You know what one of the Brothers in the church here brought up that Heath Ledger ( actor who played Joker) died right after the movie.

What are your thoughts on that?

Re: The Dark Knight

I want to see it...... "Dark" is not always bad if it was well written, well acted, artistically directed, and action packed!

People don't go into this film expecting to see a high budget version of Pilgrims Progress.

Reports at the time of his death from an overdose of prescription medicene was that he had said the role of the joker really affected him. That he had trouble shaking it after the film finished shooting.

Of course he also was a strange duck and I think pretty much regularly abused medication both prescribed and otherwise (he was a pothead).

Very sad situation. He was a talented young actor who I greatly enjoyed in "The Patriot" where he played Mel Gibson's son.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Apparently, as an actor, he wanted to capture the Jokers personality fully and it REALLY bothered him, even when the camera's were not rolling. Stories like this are fairly common. Ron Perlman (who currently stars in the Hell Boy movies) played the Predator in the first movie of the same name. He is said to have had major problems playing such an evil alien entity since his normal personality tends to fall in the "gentle" category.
