Re: Whats the average price of a ministers Home
Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, Rick Warren have gives away more money in one year than you will make in a lifetime. And they are accused of living lavishly. There is nothing wrong with a minister enjoying the fruit of their labors. The Bible says we are going to get rewarded in this life as well as the afterlife. The blessings of the Lord maketh rich and adds no sorrow to it.

Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer ect...) and it should not be said of those in GOD's Church.
Also, being a servant is the Bible's command for anyone that would want to minister, now I can't imagine a servant living in a mansion, sorry I just don't see it.

Go to certain areas of florida and if you can find a decent home for less then that more power to ya... You need to not condemn before you walk in those shoes ... and would you not want your pastor to have the best? Now I do not believe a mansion or tons of cars or any of that is necessary. I do not agree with the Hinn lifestyle or those who have many homes and cars and spend like money is candy but there is a huge difference!

My age doesn't matter, and your despising of my youth phases me none. When I do begin pastoring an assembly, I will not be collecting an income, because I will be starting one in a town with no assembly currently there. My pastor, who has pastored for over 10 years or so does NOT collect a salary from the church, and he pastors over 70 saints. I also do NOT want my pastor to have the best materially and neither do I want the best materially. He does not, and neither do I, have any business wearing the best clothing (ie. Armani or any other such things). Neither do we have any business owing the best cars, eating the most expensive food, ect, ect... We should live a humble lifestyle, with clothing that is moderate in cost, food that nourishes our temple well and houses that provide us, and those we show hospitality to, shelter and comfort. What is this "best" you speak of materially? Because if it is truly the "best" it is difficult and unwise to attain. However, I desire that my pastor and all of us have the best family lives and other such "bests" that can not be bought with money. I do not need to be a pastor to know what a pastor should have, shouldn't have, should be and shouldn't be, it's all in the Word of GOD, we can read it and then judge for ourselves as the saints. In fact, the Scriptures tell us to judge in matters of Christian life and practice, to watch who we keep company with and with whom and where we have our fellowship.

Re: Whats the average price of a ministers Home
Some of the posts on this thread remind me of a meeting I read about.
The members of the Church board were gathered to pray.
They prayed:
"Lord, help our pastor to be poor and humble.
We'll keep him poor, Lord.
You keep him humble."

I am really not trying to be rude but how does your pastor pay his bills and support a family if he doesn't have a salary?

He works a secular job... And, amazingly he can continue to be a GREAT (very much full-time) pastor.
I will add this, though, I would like for him to collect some salary, and as for now, he could draw a salary, but he sees so many other things needed in the building that he does not want to dip into the church funds. Because he does not take a salary, the church has a sizeable surplus in funds and can improve the building, help saints in need and do other good works.
GOD BLESS!

And that should not change... First of all.. I did not mean a pastor should live in a mansion or drive a lamb.. A million dollar home in Dallas is not a mansion by far.. however I am sure I pastor spent maybe not even a 1/4 of that on his home... but there is nothing wrong with them taking a salary... and doing the things you said... Our pastor does not work an outside job.. he has too much at the church but... Say the church has a sizeable surplus of funds and many more funds set aside enough to build debt free a new building and new school and office building an gym and parking lot and all the bills paid and still has plenty set aside... and he takes a salary... I think if the church is doing that good he has the right to take it... and enjoy it! Ours has enough I am sure taking care of the 1000 plus of us plus all the dozen or so daughter works we have... He deserves the best... And no I dont mean best as in major major material things... the best we want to give him!!!

Re: Whats the average price of a ministers Home
There is something wrong with a pastor having to work a full time job and having to be a full time pastor. Churches don't grow very large with that formula.
I understand the need for preachers to work a secular job when starting a new church, but as the church grows, the needs of he congregation grows. He will eventually have to give up one or the other.
Unless bro alex is satisfied with a church of us four and no more, a pastor working a secular job is fine. I think alex has higher ambitions than a church of 70.
