We have a couple that haven't always been faithful. They pretty much church hop and always have.
Last night our pastor prayed for them and showed them some things that God was going to do with their lives. How He was going to bless them and use them to bless others.
The thought came to me, "Lord, heal them in their pain." I was a little astonished that the thought came to me so strong.
My husband was talking about it today and said, "That is exactly how God would have dealt with those people."
So, this may be off topic, but sometimes people look like they are doing the wrong things and not measuring up when all they needed was spiritual healing.
Cornering them and pointing fingers with accusation doesn't normally bring any healing.
I've made mistakes in my life and God has never - not one time - talked to me ugly in prayer - not once.
We need to be more sensitive to the Spirit and voice of God, IMHO.
Just had that on my mind, sorry. lol

Thank you Brother Scott. I have seen some people that seemed to almost be worthless, so to speak, but when they were given direction - they grabbed onto purpose.

We must handle them just as carefully, if not moreso, than we handle the snakes.
If not, we'll become known as one of those 'people-handling' churches! :yikes

How do you all feel about this?

Not biblical. This is why a lot of people don't want to tithe to begin with...it gives some power to a pastor/board they should not have or exercise wrongly...to know when you tithe and how much and then use it as some sort of weapong. Calling people before a board just makes their perceptions more acute imo

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

To me I do not care if you are Tounge talking, One God, Holy Ghost, Heaven Bound believer in the liberated power of Jesus Name.
When you start demanding these kind of encounters with folks.
You are a cult and have cultish ways....
I do not care how anyone else see's it.
These encounters are used to beat folks down and keep them down.

There are many "Unofficial Panels/Boards" that judge others - I guess in this case it is just formalized. There used to be an unofficial lady who inspected to see if anyone was showing "elbows"...We used to call her and her family the "Elbow Police"....I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!...

Because there is no biblical basis for it.
