Are you saying Jewish tradition is sinful? You are really going to ridiculous lengths to adhere to your man made tradition of 50 years ago.

So, would you allow a man in your church to have a beard and never trim it? Having a beard is a far cry from trimming it or not trimming it.

I am amazed at how much an extent people will go to hold onto a tradition of the world from the 60's and yet make silly claims of what the bible said about Jesus. Himself wearing a beard! It's like the NO-JEWELRY stance when Ezekiel 16 said GOD gave jewelry to His lady in a figurative manner. God would give NOTHING, whether figuratively or not, if it was closely RELATED to anything we should not do naturally. You should hear the arguments that deal with that from these guys. WOW. Just as silly!

Re: Why I Left the UPC
I would resist a requirement to have a beard just as strongly as a prohibition against having one.
We are FREE IN CHRIST.

Amen. It's a silly issue to demand one way or another. Utterly silly and catering more to man-made traditions than to the Word of God. That is what scares me the most. It makes void the word of God by tradition.

Re: Why I Left the UPC
I wonder if any of this is changing Charnock's mind about his decision to leave the UPC

Elder Blume it is YOU not I who appealed to Jewish custom to defend wearing your beard since it was YOU then YOU must abide by the restriction given by Moses. NO Trimming.
I did NOT appeal to Jewish custom my stand has NOTHING to do with Jewish custom I agree they wore UNTRIMMED beards. But here at Racine Apostolic Jews with UNTRIMMED beards and worldly Charismatics with TRIMMED beards have to shave.

It shouldn't (or maybe I should say it should?).
The ones arguing the most are non UPC.

Changing subjects. Lose one point flee to another. I got you boxed in and I am not moving. For you to be consistent you must stop trimming your beard. We will see if your wife likes that?
