What gets me is why do SOME (a few) "holiness" girls wear hair pieces to make their hair look longer. Are they trying to decieve God. Trick the angels?
Is it still holy if it is plastic?
I admit, slightly off topic, but you know, what a stupid practice. Add fake hair to your head

Re: Another HMH Miracle: Did I do this?
I recently brought up the magic hair subject to a major UPC preacher. He seemed surprised there was any controversy. He said that he believed there were instances where God honored the faith of a woman laying her uncut hair on someone when praying and gave me one he knew first hand about. He did say the danger would be in it developing into some sort of doctrine. I got the feeling he did not believe an unbalanced view of this was running rampant in the UPC. I hope he is correct but I am afraid the evidence proves otherwise.

My son and I were not raised in the Apostolic faith. So, when he used to nag me about cutting my hair, I thought it was a cute, tender, Mommy son thing and just passed it off. From his young childhood until four years ago, I cut/trimmed my hair. Even after I got in church, I thought it was okay to trim my hair to get rid of the split ends. After all, I was keeping my glory glorious, right? My son would always nag me about that as well.
Four years ago, in the heat of the Iraq war, my son joined the Marine Corp. (I was devastated as he is my only child and I am single. He has been my best friend through the hard life we endured. Trips to the courthouse, police station, taking him to work in a methadone clinic because I had no daycare.) One day at church I heard a story about a woman who laid her uncut hair on her child with leukemia. The next doctor's visit, the leukemia was gone. I thought, "God, if you could do that for her, you could do that for me and keep my son from going to Iraq." I forgot about that little comment to God as days passed. One afternoon, I was sitting in the sun, getting ready to trim my split ends off. Just as I picked up the scissors, the phone rang. It was my son from combat training. He was ecstatic, almost screaming. I said, "Son, son, what is going on?" He yelled, "Mom, Mom, the platoon before me.. they are the last ones to go to Iraq!" At that moment, trembling with tears, I dropped the scissors. My son will be finished with his service in February. He has never had to go to Iraq or anywhere dangerous. Praise The Lord!
My most recent testimony scares me to share it. I don't tell you this for any glory for myself. But I really feel that had I cut my hair, Jesus would not have intervened in this situation.
On the 28th of December, this year(yes, a week ago or so), my friend, Alan, had an unexpected grand mal seizure in church. Everyone just let him lie on the floor because they thought he was worshipping. I saw him and saw that something was wrong. When I got to him, he was the color grey. His arm was twisted to his chest. His eyes were rolled back in his head in separate directions and his tongue was hanging out. By the time the assistant pastor made it to him, he was blue. I just started screaming "Jesus!" and screaming in tongues. That is all I knew to do. They took his body out of the church and soon the pastor called me outside. My friend was alive. He regained full conciousness in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, talking in tongues. I asked his doctor a few days later why he was grey and blue. The doctor told me that it was because he was dead.
I believe God honored my emergency call because of my commitment to Him.
You never know what is coming down the road in your life or in the life of a friend. Don't cut your hair, little sister. It may be your ace in the hole one day.

Testimony of faith in God...sure! Testimony of faith in hair...not so much. Good for her son and I am sure God was in that, but the hair didn't have much if anything to do with it. IMO

I agree CCUNO. I know may pastorial board and such doesn't believe in the uncut hair=holy/magic hair thing. They believe in separation of course, but not magic to it. Well if they believe it then at least they don't teach it.

So weird.

Exactly, and what about all the women that never cut their hair whose sons DID go to Iraq?

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Uh...yeah. That part of the post kind of freaked me out, too.

Yeah, and it's not logic at all.
Never mind her hair being the Ace in the hole, the notion that she was responsible for sparing the life of her son, and a friend with a Grand Mal seizure being brought back from the dead is a bit egocentric.

You are missing the point. This is not about her sons safety - it's about that Ace who is there for the asking...
