What in the world is going on down there? It seems the DS is threatening to remove a pastor who openly admitting having a tv on his website. The DS is supposedly bringing an entourage to remove this man within a couple of weeks. He can do this because the church is affiliated.

In the meantime, the church board has voted to disaffiliate immediately. Now the full body is going to vote on it.

Couple of thoughts here.

1. It was silly for the man to go against the bylaws he agreed to follow.
2. It was silly for him to admit it on the web.
3. I can not believe they are going to prosecute, considering the current political climate.
4. The org is about to lose another church, and lots of money, over tv.

The whole thing is crazy. All over a little box that will soon be called a computer.
Without reading the responses..I will say that if they begin taking licenses for all those UPCI preachers with a T.V. They will be left with one district, if that to support the organization.

I have always said that the by-laws, AS statement makes hypocrits out of most of them anyway

Blessings, Rhoni

P.S. All churches need to disaffiliate anyway. It is a ministerial organization and not a church organization.

He must be nervous being that this is happening in his backyard .... I envision about 75 % of the ministers in the Texas district are scrambling as we speak ....

Well, word is, it has already been handled. Supposedly, said pastor was asked to remove the tv from his home and complied. So another pastor in the district has said, anyway. I wasn't there, I don't know.
