They already have tax benefits. They have insurance coverages. We have 17,000 pages of tax codes and none take away tax benefits.

How does gay marriage benefit society?

If gays can't demonstrate benefit for society, then they can't.

Society has the right to ask questions. We asked society and out of

41 states had DOMA legislation banning same-sex marriage.

Why are you wanting to break the constitutional laws of these states?

Why????

In a civil society, the society can and should establish law and order.

Re: Gay Marriage: For or Against?

Anything that is outside the will of God harms society. And that includes divorce of heterosexual couples. Look what it does to the children and the family unit.
And I do believe God intended a child to have a father (male) and mother (female).
As Christians I feel we should support what God supports.

How does heterosexual marriage or marriage in general benefit society?

The majority of society claiming that something is right or wrong, does not in fact make it right or wrong. Examples: Nazi Germany, Post Civil War South (KKK), and the imprisonment of Japanese Americans during the Second World War.

You're not getting it. It's not okay to force your values on someone. If they do force their values on us... it's an opportunity to actually take a stand for what we DO believe in without trying to use the law to control the lives of other people. I'd rather be the persecuted than the persecutor. Historically the church has always been hideously hated by the people when forcing her beliefs on the population. However, when the church has been a sincere and persecuted people... we've flurished and often served with inspiring testimonies.

I say let them have the rights they desire under the principles of human liberty. However, take a stand when they attempt to infringe on our liberties.

But the question is... do we support it through codifying it into man made laws, or by living what we believe and teaching it in our churches, the radio, and television? We are called to teach and make desciples out of the lost, not rule over them. We are the salt of the earth... it's not our job to force them to be salt. Our existance and practice is what a society needs. Not more laws, expanded government powers over our private lives, and additional regulations on what we can believe religiously.

Let's look at a real legal case.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...sexuality.html

A judge says this couple can't be foster parents because they say homosexuality is wrong.

Quote:
Mrs Johns said: ‘The council said: “Do you know, you would have to tell them that it’s OK to be homosexual?”
‘But I said I couldn’t do that because my Christian beliefs won’t let me. Morally, I couldn’t do that. Spiritually I couldn’t do that.’
The Pentecostal Christian couple from Derby, who have fostered almost 20 children, are not homophobic, according to the Christian Legal Centre, which has taken up their case.

Read up on DOMA. It is still legal in this country.

They lose no rights. They do lose customised and preferred treatment.

Liberty is sacred.

Liberty and Justice should belong to ALL Americans. Disagree with them, preach the truths of Scripture with conviction, practice church discipline, and cry aloud. But allow all men to be free.

Preferred treatment is when I am allowed to marry the one I love in the church we attend. And another couple isn't allowed to marry the one they love in the church they attend.
