That's part of the problem Scotty.
You like yours just the way it is. Its called being in
the comfort zone.
I've been UPC for 16+ years. I like the strong stand on biblically- based doctrine. I don't like the non-biblical, man-made traditions that serve as distractions and hindrances to the real work of the Kingdom.
Take the the facial hair nonsense for example.
Telling new converts they have to shave their beards or mustaches is utter foolishness. And how about when saints transfer to a new UPC church district, and they're told they cant be used in ministry unless they shave? (even if this person has been a preacher/Sunday school teacher/musician for the Lord etc, in the past, it doesnt matter to them. They're more concerned with the mustache on his face, than his life, his heart, and what he can contribute to the Kingdom of God).
For some people in the Pentecostal "comfort zone", they like it like that, because
"thats how we've always did it, and we ain't changin' for nobody ".
Somehow, I don't think God is as pleased with these things, as some of the conservatives among us seem to be.
