What an absolutely MORONIC question! We care because the UPC is our spiritual heritage. Some of us have much love and respect for our good ole mothership and find its machinations fascinating. Some of us still have a foot in the door since many family members are affiliated. Some of us still contribute to UPC churches in our way and hope and pray that all this mess will get sorted out for the benefit of loved ones who are involved. To suggest that if you leave the ship you have nothing to contribute is ridiculous! (I had another word lined up but thought better of it.)

Do you have a speech impediment?

You seem to be stuttering?!

The men leaving are just as vital and important to the Kingdom as the men staying. To say that anybody - especially someone of Bro. Booker and Bro. Godair's caliber - is insignificant is lunacy of the highest order.

What has made this organization great is the diversity of brethren and Apostolic based viewpoints. To say either extreme is insignificant is absolute ignorance. All are needed in the Kingdom... some just feel that perhaps their viewpoint is not as well accepted by the UPC at large.

I personally don't think that we will lose a massive number of ministers. Many that you folks discuss aren't planning on leaving at all... regardless of the claims they have already committed to organizational 'kamikaze' tactics. In many instances it just hasn't happened and won't. However, I think the caliber of men that we stand to lose is a much greater danger than just the acceptance of TV advertising.

Again, many see TV advertising as the 'final straw' but others just see it as a strong cue to seek out fellowship more atune to their convictions. I can't fault those that stay. I refuse to fault those that leave.

I agree... this thread crosses the lines in far too many areas.

While an organization is not the Church, the men and woman affiliated are...it grieves my spirit that it has come to this.

This is not against you personally, Elder, for I have been spouting this for the longest.

I just used your post to voice it again, first because the words struck me so, and second because I knew I could...
I wish them well, but I think it is best that they leave.

They have been the source of much division.

No forgiveness necessary, Sis.

I was just confused as to why this seemed to be so interesting.

I quoted Dora's post in my answer....

Causing division while still holding their licenses ... having affirmed against the disunity of the brethren, breaching the ministerial code of ethics and not complying to their signed ethical commitments when they made when applying for their ministerial licenses.

Who mentioned names?

BTW, have we even determined that they have left?

The sermon tiltled "protecting the bean patch".

It is only on audio...of coarse...LOL.

He told the story but left out the names...so you'd have to be knowledgeable of the the "friends" of TC to know it was the Phillips....he also talked abot Mark Hamby....

Thad's original post was a truthful (except with the names added) I just listened to the sermon....
