Except when we - as the Galatians were doing - go back to trying to follow the "works mentality", hoping to attain our salvation that way - but it doesn't work. "O foolish Galatians! who has bewitched you - that ye should not obey the truth before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you. .... are ye so foolish - having begun in the spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh? "
This discussion is so awesome, Bro. Blume!

WOOHOO! Amen!
It's like cataracts grow over the eyes of our understanding again like a veiling after God first removed them, when we go back under legalities!
I feel like writing another book on this issue.

I was just going to suggest that. This might be the most powerful one ever... one that every believer who has come to Christ should read!

I saw this very thing you are teaching several years ago, and realized what a heavy yoke the fleshly ways are and it is a constant battle to keep the "cataracts" from returning. But praise God, there is true liberty in Christ!

I was driving an hour to a meeting I was preached this past weekend and all of this was pouring down from heaving into my heart. Thank you, Lord!

It is wonderful when the Lord opens up our understanding in this way, through the word and the spirit!

Re: Veil of flesh
amen! powerful thread, guys!
you might expound upon how this is true, and yet "a good deed covers many sins?"
Also, in reading the quoted part below,
"That's why GRACE is packed into everything about the gospel. It totally removes the thought that self can improve self. It's demanded that we lose self effort to get saved.
And the reason it changes us more and more into His image, like Adam was before the fall and before the barrier of the veil in the door of the Garden, is because the more we lose our own efforts to act independently of God, the more GOD CAN WORK THROUGH US."
how does one know if they are attempting human good, v God is "working" through us? Ty!

Romans 6:13 shows how we pay and ask God to use us, and then we wait on the Lord expecting him to empower us. That is the opposite of simply knowing we must do good and ditching ourselves to do it. One has us pray and trust God while other does not involve God.

Re: Veil of flesh
Ah, very nice! It came to me as i was trying to fall asleep that it is a codependency--or "double-mindedness" issue. Codependents can be very giving; expecting in return. This is actually a kind of manipulation.
