To me a great revival could be simply a small group of saints that re discover the full Apostolic foundation. That would be a great miracle.

You don't need "visions of grandeur" in fact - the very opposite! Just be willing to do whatever the Lord asks you to do. Perhaps the revival you so desire is being birthed right where you are at... just be willing to be a vessel used for the LORD'S GLORY!

It is NOT praise (i.e., worship) which brings revival, rather it is "righteousness!"

One of the most important "messages in tongues" given of God during the famed Azuza Street Revival of the early 20th Century was thusly stated:

"As the time of the end draws near, there will be a greater emphasis upon worship than upon righteousness!"

Are we witness to this in our day? Absolutely!

God was NOT stating that worship was wrong, for most assuredly He is worthy of all of the honor and praise we might extend unto Him, but what He was saying was that we NEED to get our priorities aright! Praise without righteousness is likened to a soldier with a rifle but with no ammunition! It is the ammunition which makes the rifle what it was designed to be!

Let us return to seeking FIRST the "righteousness" of God, as the Lord commanded that we MUST do (see Matthew 6:33), and then, and ONLY then will be experience revival! Until then we are nothing more than rifles without ammunition. Oh! We appear outward as pure, holy, and sanctified, but its all a "big show." We don't fool God!

Ever note the words of admonition the Lord issued to the early church at Laodicea? He said, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and KNOWEST NOT that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent" (Revelation 3:15-20).

Has any here been "rebuked and chastened" of the Lord lately? If so, then perhaps you should entreat the Lord to determine whether He has been trying to make you aware of your "lukewarmness" which stands in desperate need of identification and correction so that the "revival" you desire can occur.

Make no mistake about it; God stands ever ready to facilitate a revival, but it does NOT begin with Him! Revival MUST begin with us, and the manner in which we conduct our selves in accordance with His "righteousness"! I am persuaded that it is THIS that we are NOT presently doing, and UNTIL we do we will NEVER see the "revival" we seek to experience!

Re: Where is the revival?

I am also persuaded to believe that IF the contemporary Oneness Apostolic Pentecostal Church (regardless of its affiliation with a particular man-made ministerial licensing institution) is to experience a "revival," and especially one which might be equal to or (hopefully) exceed that of the churches of the 1st Century which we read about in the book of Acts, there are at least three (3) elements which MUST be evident within an assembly. These are:

1.) Truth! God will NOT honor error, regardless how minute it might be! Therefore truth containing the least degree of error will NEVER bring revival!

2.) Brotherly love! I'm referring to that type of love which Christ Jesus stated in His "new commandment" as written in John 13:34-35, to wit, "That ye love one another; AS I HAVE LOVED YOU, that ye also love one another. By this shall ALL men KNOW that ye are MY disciples, that ye HAVE love ONE TO ANOTHER." When was the last time you heard another make reference to the love which we (outwardly) display toward one another as EVIDENCE that we are HIS disciple? Not lately, huh? Another reason why we don't "see" the revival we so desire! Pardon the expression, but its our "rotten, stinking attitude" that we so often display for one another that is a major hindrance that prevents "revival" (just being candid here)!

3.) Compassion and empathy for the lost! It seems that instead of "perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry" (it is sheep which "birth" other sheep, remember, and NOT the "shepherds"), what do we witness? Nothing but sermons, lectures, and an abundance of monologues wherein the "passiveness" of the sheepfold is being continually perpetuated, instead of "teaching" and "equipping" the "sheep" to go forth from the sheepfold and continually "reproduce"! Where is the "passion" for the lost that we, as members of a "royal priesthood" are commanded to have for the lost? Without THIS there will NOT be a revival (again, just being candid). The members of the sect called Jehovah Witness, who are not hindered by the harshest of weather conditions to prevent them from going door-to-door "peddling" that which will save no one, truly put us Apostolic Pentecostals to shame!

My two pence for what it might be worth. Is anyone listening?

Re: Where is the revival?

Brother Lafon, I did not mean to imply that "praise and worship" will bring a revival. I meant that the MANIFESTATION OF HIS PRAISES is sorely needed in this day.

What are HIS praises? Is it not his glory, his character, his holiness, his righteousness? These things must be MANIFESTED in his church. Not something we talk about, not something we sing about, not even something we do. But something God does in us and through us.

Offering praise in worship to God is important. But that is kindergarten stuff. Time for the church to move on to a genuine SUPERNATURAL level of SUSTAINED presence of God. Not something we "enter into on sunday" but a genuine Pentecostal enduement with power that we walk in 24/7.

Moses once said "if I have found grace in your sight, show me your way that I may know you, that I may find grace in your sight." We have to go from grace to (a deeper experience of) grace.

And in answer, God said my presence will go with you and I will give you rest.

He also pointed out that God's presence is will sanctify us (separate us) and will be the way the lost will know we have in fact found grace in God's sight.

And the presence of God is NOT just a bunch of excitement and shockamoo and loud praise and worship or even a "feeling" created by the right music and other tricks of the flesh. It is the manifest presence of God, the operation of prophesying, revelations, miracles, healings, etc that is needed - without all the insanity and falsehoods and deceit of previous "movements".

I'm rambling now lol. I dunno if what I am saying makes any sense or not to anyone. But just consider... there is a sequence: Passover, Pentecost, then Tabernacles. We have to get to a Tabernacles walk (I hesitate to use the word "experience" as it seems too limiting). But before Tabernacles there is Trumpets and Atonement...

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any SPECIFIC revival going on.

Did you read Post #26?

To me, while never discounting the importance of worship, regardless of the type, be it singing, prayer, corporate praise, I believe the things I expressed are the three most important pillars of what I might call a "Revivalist Church." And, UNTIL such criterion is met, I am not persuaded that a revival will never occur, regardless of the location.
