Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
Quote from Ethel Goss (widow of 1st UPC Gen Supt. Howard Goss) book "The Winds of God"
Be nice to him, I stepped on his toes one time & he still hasn't gotten over it!
Oh yeah, I'm quite sure it's keeping him up at night.

Renda, her statement to Papa Bear, do you agree with it?
Is there anything over the line any more?
I must have missed something here. What did I say to offend Papa Bear besides calling his attitude into question? Phariseeical attitudes have been rubbing me the wrong way lately. I have a real problem with members of the body of Christ telling other members of the body of Christ when they can leave because they don't dot every i and cross every t.
I tried to be more concillatory to Papa Bear in my last response to him.
You can call me Carol if that makes you feel any better, Ron.

It wasn't you.
It was another poster - he doesn't know if they are a he or she.
I think you've coined it exactly how I feel lately and my sharp responses today - - I'm tired of the Phariseeical attitudes!
Pastor Phillips came into this thread with some pretty egregious statments about other ministers. I would hope he doesn't have too thin a skin since he goes around making those kind of statements about other Pastors.

That's what gets me the most -- and then we're the bad guys for questioning what PM said.

It's funny Renda but usually the ones who like to condemn and judge are the same ones to get upset when it starts coming back their way. Just an observation....

Mike, you are right about that.
My observation is that with the out lash from Papabear (and I'm sure many of his constituents) it seems PM got the outcome he desired.
