I know what you need! Find ya a good old fashioned get right or get gone preacher, well versed in the art of preaching people into hell at the drop of a hat and let him know you watch TV. A service or two of being dangled over the flames of hell will send that Antiques Road Show devil packin and I mean quicklike! Ha! Can I get a witness?!?!?!

By your chaste conversation you can save the unbelieving spouse! That is not being a War Lord over the one you love!
Congratulations, Ogia, on your wisdom and patience and perseverance! You are to be applauded for not attempting to legislate your beliefs on your unbelieving spouse! As you know, my wife is not saved either. However, after 8 years of living it in front of her she is close, yea very close, to being born again and becoming a citizen of a heavenly kingdom! Keep it up and I believe God will honor his Word and allow your testimony to break down the barriers that stand between your wife and the Kingdom of God!

I think that if they do not vote it in then that is promoting disunity. I think that there could be a medium ground that can be reached. i.e. my previous post about commercials. I do not think that the very cons will balk at that because they themselves could benefit from them, but not feel that they are "watering" down the doctrine, I guess you could say.

I was stating that from an earlier post by someone else. I do think that the lost has to be reached by any means. How can reaching the lost not be safe? Common sense would tell someone that maybe in the bar is not the best place, but outside the bar, that is a good place. Look at what Matt Maddix has done in FL. with the bootcamps. Any means. You have to be honest with yourself first. If someone has a temptation with drinking they should not witness anywhere close the bars, and so on.

I do not mean that they would remove them because of flippant things. What I am talking about is if they start preaching something out of the Bible. But, yes it would hard to regulate that but look at it this way if they were on TV doing this at least there would be video proof of preaching outside the Bible.

I used to belong to a UPCI church and part of my family still goes to one. When I say us I mean that as the organization and how is woven into my family's lives. My current church is not UPCI you are right there.
The church I was raised in back in TN, ALJC, they have a tv program and have for 20+yrs. The church is rather large, in the 800 range, and many of those people have came in because of the TV broadcast. I feel that some if not most UPCI churches could benefit from something similar and to deny that if weird to me. I believe that the UPCI as a whole would want bigger churches full of more repentant people. Most of the churches in the UPCI are rather small and if they could get on TV either by a program or commercials then and that help drive people in wouldn' t that be worth it? If you are a pastor would you not like at least another 4-5-6-35 families in your church? I used 35 because at last count 5yrs ago that is how many came into the church in Tn since they started the TV ministry. That is not to mention the 100 or so that those 35 families, not 35 people, won after their convertion.
The numbers add up pretty good, wouldn't you say?

Faith is calling things that are not as though they are? We had 5000 last night at Bible study more or LESS.
