Reconciliation takes more than one party, which is why Paul said be ye reconciled to God after he said God has reconciled us to himself.

Take for example, if you forgive someone who offended you but the person refuses to admit they were wrong and thus think they do not need your forgiveness, it does not mean you have not forgiven said person.

However, the relationship between you and that person will never be on friendly terms until reconciliation occurs between TWO of y'all.

So, then we would say, Truthseeker has reconciled you to himself, but you need to reconcile yourself back to truthseeker.

20 So we have been sent to speak for Christ. It is like God is calling to people through us. We speak for Christ when we beg you to be at peace with God.

Paul said God did his part.
Paul said we need to do our part.

I don't know how else it can be said other than how Paul said it.
