TR, I know the historical perceptions, but the point is that based on the positions of both of the candidates, BO would be harder on Al-Quaeda specifically than Bush has for several years now and McCain would appear to be.

As the Dali Bama himself would say: "Words... just words".

Obviously HAMAS and Al Qaeda know better, since they both have made it clear they'd rather see Obama in there than McCain.

a. I must have missed something. I have not seen where Al-Quaeda has made it clear that they want Obama in the White House.

b. Are you of the opinion that all of Obama's talk about focusing on Afghanistan and the Pakistan border as a central front as opposed to Iraq is all talk and that he has no intention of doing so? And what is that based on? It appears that people are just choosing to believe the parts they want to believe. You can take him at his word that he does not see the point of staying in Iraq indefinitely and continuing to make that our foreign focal point, and say that he is surrendering if he does that...but not take him at his word for the second part of his central message on the war on terror?

Are you just not paying attention, TS?

When a leading Al Qaeda figure issues a statement 5 days before the US elections, calling for the humiliation of Bush and the Republican party, what do you think they're saying?

I think Al-qaeda has miscalculated badly if there campaigning for Obama. By his own admission, John McCain's ready to fight in Iraq if it takes another 50 years.

That would bode well for Al-qaeda just like the last 5 years.

Some consider Barack Obama a "brother."
He is the child of a Muslim father and had a Muslim stepfather.
Muslims look at him as "once a Muslim, always a Muslim."

If they thought he had apostasized from Islam, wouldn't they have had him killed?

Maybe they consider Obama to be another Jimmy Carter who was probably the most inept president we've had in the last century.

And, recently, Jimmy Carter has come out against Israel and on the side of the "Palestinians."

Well if Al-qaeda believes it that closes the case, I guess. After all, they've been some of the most rational thinkers on the foreign scene.

I'll take this at face value. They hate GWB's guts and hope he's humiliated.

If, for whatever reason, they believe BO will be any more distracted than GWB has been the last 5 years, they're probably wrong.

Interesting, since we've killed and/or captured many Al Qaeda leaders since 9/11... and foiled multiple terrorist plots... and kept our country safe from attack since 9/11. I guess that means nothing to the leftists, Bush haters, and others.

I guess in the minds of some, since Bush hasn't killed Osama Bin Laden, that must mean he's been really ineffective against Al Qaeda.
