Al Qaeda Prefers McCain

The following is an excerpt of an article in the New York Times:
The Endorsement From Hell

(T)he endorsement of Mr. McCain by a Qaeda-affiliated Web site isn't a surprise to security specialists. Richard Clarke, the former White House counterterrorism director, and Joseph Nye, the former chairman of the National Intelligence Council, have both suggested that Al Qaeda prefers Mr. McCain and might even try to use terror attacks in the coming days to tip the election to him.

"From their perspective, a continuation of Bush policies is best for recruiting," said Professor Nye, adding that Mr. McCain is far more likely to continue those policies.
Do you think a McCain Presidency would create the negative atmosphere that this suggests?

Re: Al Qaeda Prefers McCain

I really wish that the opinions of folks outside of our country concerning this election would be a non issue.

Fact is, they would rather have Sen. Obama in office and that their words to the press are meant to influence what happens here.

There is NOTHING al quaeda should be able to say and have it be an influence in our election. To give them amy press coverage legitimizes their wickedness!

Only because McCain would fight back.

Richard Clarke is a big reason 9/11 happened. He is a former Clinton Admin national security advisor. They underestimated Al Qaeda and Bin Ladin all thru the 90s.

Al Qaeda knows their endorsement is the kiss of death. They endorsed Kerry in '04. The video they released just before the election then is attributed to sealing the deal for Bush. They know Obama will wage war like Clinton did. If they want a recruiting incentive, then why were they in favor of Kerry in '04? It does not stand up to logic.

No, this is a ploy, they are afraid of Mac. They want him to lose.
