I love Bishop Jakes ministry and hope this is being taken out of context...

Giving him as much benefit of the doubt as I can, I can see how in a certain context it might not be as bad as it sounds....
He could be trying to say that to some people it
looks "lesbianish", and David and Johnathan's relationship
looked gay to some folks, because a lot of people have trouble with people of the same gender expressing love for each other.
I still find his comments to be poor choice of words to say the least.
Just think... the bible says John leaned on Jesus' breast. Are we to say now that that
bordered on homosexuality?
By saying that the Naomi/Ruth relationship "bordered on lesbianism",
(even if he's just trying to say it might have that appearanceto some people) his words just play into the hands of those who embrace the perverted "gay theology"... which is unfortunate.
Preachers need to be careful what they say on topic of homosexuality, and how they say it, lest their words be used by the enemy as a way of giving support to perverted theology.
Maybe his words won't sound as bad if heard in full context of the sermon, but what we've heard so far doesn't sound good. And if people are suspicious of Jakes' thoughts and motives on the gay issue, they may have good reason. From having openly lesbian financial adviser Suze Orman at his Megafest event, to his mealymouthed answer to a question on homosexuality that he gave on NPR (the audio is below), the man has a dubious record when dealing with this topic.
I'm not going to go so far yet as to call him a false teacher who has lost his way (which some have already said), but I'll say this man is giving me reason to be a little concerned.
