A nice glue trap with peanut butter right in the middle of the trap works great. It will kill in time.
Shot gun works great but finding "mouse shot" is hard.

Poison is good, but they usually crawl into a wall die there and your house stinks
for a few months.

How about the good old mouse trap?
I would use a shotgun, but I would probably be taken down by the Vancouver SWAT team.

Glue Traps. Be ready to buy several. Make sure first all holes or any thing else that mice can get in through are plugged up.
Put the glue traps along walls in places like under the sink or anywhere else you see them. They run along walls. Check traps regularly.

They will often die in the glue traps too. They run fast so they hit the traps and it brings them to a fast stop which often forces their face into the glue and they suffocate.
Other times I have seen mice try to naw their arm off and end up dying. But often they are still alive a little and I just toss them in a bag, tie it up and throw it in the trash

The glue traps I use all smell like peanut butter from the get go. But yeah mice LOVE the smell of peanut butter....who said cheese? Use peanut butter.
