I rarely, if ever, listen to these very vocal conservative voices. But....the times when I did listen or read for a few minutes, they didn't sound racist to me! They're just conservative!
I personally don't like any of them, as they push the envelope too far with their arrogance. I feel the same way about their counterparts in the liberal media.
A racist , to me, is someone who is constantly looking for ways to turn any issue into a racial issue!
I wish Obama were white, only because I would feel more at ease to criticize him and his polices without fearing that I would be called a racist!

I wish it were that easy! It would be like criticizing the Asian half of Tiger Woods!
Back to the cartoon:
First of all, it was NANCY PELOSI who wrote the stimulus bill, NOT OBAMA! The chimp represents her!
I look at this cartoon as saying the stimulus bill was written by people with monkey brains. To that I might agree!

Personally. I am not convinced that the cartoon was drawn with racist intentions.
But... those demanding such have their apology now so... done deal.

I remember seeing a cartoon from years ago, I don't know if it was published in a newspaper at one time or not, in which the Irish were compared to monkeys. I guess that was around the time of the great potato famine when many starved and many came to the U.S. Many looked down on them as sub-human.

I'm not an Oprah fan but I sure wouldn't classify her with the Reverends Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
I wonder if any of us are 100 percent non-racist or color-blind???

Re: Pee On Me and Tell Me It's Rain
This brings up some interesting thoughts.
Martin Luther King's desire was for the world to be color blind. He didn't want the color of a persons skin to make any diffference in anything they pursued.
I feel the same way.
So why is it that people of color (is that politically correct) still insist on segregating themselves with all the different groups like the black society of whatever. There are many. And I really don't care. But I don't see how a person of color can complain about segregation if they belong to or espose groups that segregate according to skin color. How about Miss Black America? How about the congressional black caucus? You could google for many other groups that are segragated according to the color of their skin.
And Obama being referred to by the color of his skin. Actually we know he's only half, but still, Obama...black president. That seems racial to me. But not to people of color.
So join any group you want to, even if it's name refers to people of a certain skin color. But if you do, realize what you're doing.

What has Coulter or Savage done to earn the title, "racist?"

BHO is not above criticism.
But why would anyone use an old racial throwback to reference him to criticize him or anything with his name on it?
You wouldn't do that so you have no reason to fear criticizing him.
Your lack of ease is irrational.

Why did you post that cartoon on this thread?
Why would you?
You can be assured that if I knew something offended you, I wouldn't shove it in your face. Usually, decent folks don't do that.
But I guess I shouldn't be offended, right?
I thought I laid a convincing case as to why that thing was offensive to me and to others-- Black and White.
I don't question your Christianity Mr. Steinway.
I am further convinced of your flawed humanity.
Have a good night, Sir.
