Of course, God, through His grace, brings good out of bad. Only He can do that. But you said, "God's ways are not our ways" seemingly implying that God had a "Way" in all this. I don't believe that and I don't believe scripture ever backs up that notion.

Here's another point to consider: The statement, "God's ways are not our ways", which is taken from the book of Isaiah, is almost always used completely out of context. When Isaiah wrote that, he was talking about God's mercy. God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy....for His ways are not our ways and His thoughts, not our thoughts.

That statement is nearly always used in a "We'll understand it better by and by" sort of way, but that's not, at all, what it means.

This notion that God sits up in heaven like a puppet-master, pulling the strings of our lives, is an EXTREMELY faulty one.

Let me tell you a story. I don't suppose a day has gone by that I haven't prayed for my children since the day they were born. In spite of that, our 26 year old son was killed during an accident several years ago. He was with his best friend, who was unhurt. He and his family were and ARE good friends to our whole family. Why was my son killed and the other man not? I can't answer that.....but I do trust God.

I can almost guarantee you that the friend's mom thanks God daily that her son is alive and well. And all the while, grieving for our son....she loved him dearly. Was she involved in God choosing my son to die and hers live, as you seem to think Esther was in praying for her niece? I'm sure my friend prays for her children daily also.

Maybe I'm not understanding just what you all are trying to explain here. Maybe I am, as Pel says, just not intelligent enough to comprehend...lol
Even that situation is different. By sparing one person in a car that wrecked it didn't lead to the death of anyone else. What happened there may have very well been a miracle and something to thank God for. Again, this is much different than Esther's story because in your story sparing one didn't lead to the death of the other.

In Esther's story, could it be that the god of this world determined to wreak havoc and when he decided to go after Esther's family, the Blood of Jesus stopped him?

Esther and her family has every right to praise GOD for this miracle!

If God had not spared Esther's family, would we have space to blame GOD for not hearing her prayers? Would we be right to offer Esther condolensces laced with blame towards GOD?

The family from Parker, Co didn't die because God spared Esther's family.

The family from Parker, Co died because of the god of this world decided to wreak havoc. This is a sad example of the side effects of living in such a sinful world.

Your post reads as if GOD decided to kill the family from Parker, Co-- I disagree with this.

GOD decided to spare Esther's family's lives. GOD is Sovereign.

We should praise HIM! His MERCY endureth forever!

If Esther's family had died would the family from Parker, Co still be alive? If so then they died as a result of Esther's family being spared. Was this the only reason of their death? No. A drunk driver was also involved. But the fact is that had Esthers family not been spared then the Parker family would be alive right now. It is for that reason that I say there was no miraculous intervention in Esther's story. I'm not trying to blame God for anything. God didn't kill that family nor did his action cost them their lives. But IF Esther is right and God miraculously intervened then his action cost the Parker Co family their life. Therefore, Esther is not right about divine intervention taking place.

Also, We cannot even hope to understand why God acts sometimes and why he doesn't. Therefore, we can't complain or blame God when he doesn't act and we want him to. However, if he does act then we can analyze what directly happens as a result of his action. In this case God supposedly miraculously spared Esther's family. The funny thing about that claim is that this also means God miraculously stopped the drunk from already already being crashed when the Parker Co family got it.. The other funny thing is that God knew that the drunk would go crash into the Parker Co family if he miraculsouly intervened in that way. Of course God had other options and could have miraculously intervened in such a way that no family died to that drunk driver that day. I mean he was doing a divine act, right?
