Maybe some would like to come to Brazil during the feast of the tabernacles! I always decorate for it...yeah, I know some will say that is under the law...guess what I know that too! But I love to read about it.
Someone wanted to talk to me this time in the states and mentioned they heard we was off the doctrine. I asked how is that. They said, you have a picture of a priest blowing a Shofar and the star of David... and we heard you encourage your kids to learn about Jewish feasts (my SS class) I said if that is what you heard then that is true! I have taught all my class about jewish holidays and etc and we have had fun learning that way I haven't had to take them to places like Disney (not that I am against it I don't have the money) they have not asked to go bowling and skating and things like that. They had kept busy and while playing they have learned Bible history.
The person just looked at me and said Oh, I see...
One came back from Brazil saying we were yahweh worshippers because I have a banner that was a gift to me that says yahweh...
May Jesus forgive our judging spirits...

I remember one American came to one of our conventions and sitting on the platform he had a peice of paper writing down all our faults.
I looked over and saw what he was writing...1. to much noise. 2. .... 3.... and on and on...finally I patted him on the shoulder and said, "Brother, these people have already come futher than your people will ever have to go."
Our people mostly came from devil worship, from schools that have no discipline, a life of fighting just to survive...
How easy it is to judge...

One American said to me to tell a girl her blouse was too low...I looked at the holy American and said, " I am really just glad she is here she was on the street last night selling her body..."

Of course, "God" doesn't have a birthday per se, but the Son of God obviously did. And if Christians choose to use December 25th to observe/commemorate his birth, why would that be a a problem?
Again, it says nothing about watchnight/New Years Eve services either.. but most Apostolic churches observe that annually. Is that wrong ?
And the bible doesn't tell us to observe birthdays either, but most apostolics observe that too. Is that wrong?
As a matter of fact, it seems that most Apostolic churches even make it a point to take time out during a Sunday morning service to honor their pastor and pastor's wife when their birthday comes around. I guess you could consider that to be the "unbiblical observation of something the bible doesn't tell us to observe" ... and I guess you'd be right.
Still I think some saints make a bigger deal over this stuff than God does.

The word of the Lord says to give honour to whom honour is due. Congregations have special services for their Pastors and their wives, because they are doing what the scripture says; and it is their way of showing how much they appreciate them. Nothing ungodly with that.

Water Baptism......Pagan Origin (John the Baptist wasn't the 1st baptizer!)
Baby Dedications.....Pagan Origins
Marriage Ceremonies..... again, Paganism
Funeral services (Blessing the Dead)
The point is... there are a great number of things we do, and promote that, if we really looked into their origins, we'd find Paganism written all over it. Those little figurines around your house... PAGAN images.
Easter....Christmas.... and just about every religious holiday you can name...
PAGAN
But God "searches and trys the reigns (intents) of the heart". The REASON we celebrate Easter and have church steeples is far removed from their origins. It would seem to me that when we "Christianize" worldly or pagan practices, we are triumphing over the pagan practices for which they were used in the past. Like taking a country music song and putting Christain lyrics to it. In other words...this whole discussion about PAGANISM is "much ado about nothing!"

Baby dedications.............Pagan? What did Hannah do with Samuel?

This is a topic that continues to come up every year just before December. There is no question why the false doctrine of Trinitarianism is shunned. Many before receiving the Apostolic doctrine practiced or celebrated (whichever term you choose) Christmas. My father is a Prophet and was raised Lutheran and my mother was not raised with any doctrinal beliefs (although most of her family were Baptists). My father received the truth during his time in Vietnam and my mother as a teenager; both grew up with Christmas very much a part of their lives. However, when they were both called out from the world they ceased to stop the yearly participating in Christmas. My siblings and I were raised not celebrating Christmas. Yet, my parents did not just tell us that we were not to celebrate they showed up scripturally why. As a child at times I thought I was missing out, when all the other children in school returned talking about the many gifts they had received. The only gifts in our home were for birthdays or just on occasion as my parents saw fit. When I grew older I decided to research the history of Christmas and how it lines up with the word of God. There is no scripture that condones Christmas, or states when Jesus Christ was born (for many that is an agreeable fact). There is however, an abundance of scriptures that speak on being separate from the world, no to practice the ways of the world, worshiping idols, etc. I know the truth about Christmas and other holidays because I have sought the truth, and the face of God. Therefore, I do not condone nor partake in Christmas. Some Apostolics will continue to do so and have never bothered to learn the history of it, but do it because it is something that has always been done. There are those that have taken the time to learn the history it, and still choose to celebrate it. In either case it is ungodly. My Pastor celebrates Christmas and a service is held with Christmas trees on the platform, lit up reindeer on the platform, and huge wreath hanging in the sanctuary. (This was how the service was done last year) My husband and I walked into service, and then we left and went home. That is the conviction that Christ has given me and clearly shown how wicked Christmas is. I choose not to celebrate the holiday because it is pagan. The problem I have is when an entire service is done around the holiday. I have a problem when Pastors celebrate a particular holiday, the church service is arranged around it. If one chooses to celebrate it, do it at home. The church is not the place for it.

On this subject I guess I am a middle of the road guy. I see TWO holidays one drenched in Catholicism and the other a traditional family holiday. I ask myself this question it is wrong to give a gift 1 day out of 365? Is it wrong to have dinner with the family 1 day of 365? Since to me the answer is in the negative I cannot see the see of doing so. However those Catholic emblems such as the tree and such I would not decorate a tree or put up decorations in June or July so I don't do them in December. Now I get shot from both camps.

Are you saying you are straddling the fence?
No, Bro. E, I believe that's your conviction and you are entitled to it!
