Well in anycase. Scientists have to be open minded about things. Cures are discovered because they are open minded about science. New discoveries are made because people are open minded, Open mindedness is not about accepting or tolerating peoples vices.
It's not about rejecting the TRUTH because in fact its about a search for truth

The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Not always.
You just made a declarative statement that is not valid.
Open-mindedness can stem from a lack of care for what is true.
Folks can simply open themselves up to any thought, idea, or spirit imaginable.
Seems a lot of folks think an open mind is a great thing. It's as if demanding proof before granting agreement is a bad thing. In fact, if you disagree with any ill-conceived, hair-brained ideas that irrational thinkers pose you are considered "close-minded" and, of course, that is the worst sin imaginable to those with no real core values.

Thats open morality, not open mindedness. Open mindedness is about truth and proofs and facts, just as you first post suggested but wrongly used....an Open minded person does not accept things without proofs. Your first post was or hinted that an open minded person would call someone demanding proofs a bad thing.
See you have confused open mindedness with loose morals.
An Open minded person looks at the facts and weighs if they are true. A closed minded person does not

Entertaining an idea is not open mindedness. Being OPEN to the TRUTH is open mindedness.
Open mindedness means one is objective when it comes to something being true or not true. Thus an objective person will entertain whether or not Jezebel was a sinner. They will look at the evidence and conclude based on the evidence that yes she was a sinner. A closed minded person will NOT look at the evidence at all.
Open mindedness is not about what you keep saying it is. It's about being objective. It does not mean one has to become a sinner, experiment, tolerate sinners or someone elses sins, give up the truth or turn to a false gospel...in fact FALSE is the operative word there. OPEN MINDEDNESS means objectivity. Subjectivity is the opposite. A SUBJECTIVE person might just believe whatever they want to believe is true just because. They don't want to hear facts. They don't want to hear how what they believe might be untrue and thus discover the truth. And THUS a person who was raised a certain way and believes something is true when it is false, will never discover it is false if that person is closed minded..
On principle what you said in the first post is right, but that is not what being open minded means.

How do you know Thomas's doubt was sin? The others got to see Jesus first, and they had the exact same reason to believe he had risen that Thomas did: they saw him! When Thomas saw Jesus, he believed, too. Thomas doubted what he heard the others tell him. Not what Jesus told him.

This type of discussion is a perfect example of how labels such as Conservative, Liberal, Open minded, close minded, can have polar opposite meanings depending on the context.
Some of the most closed minded, stubborn people I know happen to be members of the liberal, "far left". I also know some extremely conservative relatives that also fall into that category ("Yup, I don't believe that because I was always taught this.... Yup yup yup" or "If it ain't in the bible it don't happen! So take you 'dinio-sores' and 'black holes' and 'super-novas' and put them where they belong -in satans pit!").
THEN there are those who I consider extremely open minded and liberal, yet politically (and spiritually) are some of the most conservative I know.
