Anyone reading Patterson's book on baptism or the Godhead would have NEVER thought his view (thought PCI) was anything but standard Oneness thinking. He was emphatic. Gurley, Yadon and others preached Acts 2:38 so strong only those in the know would have known the difference. But today these folks who calim these as their roots are closer to what the PCI came out of istead of the PCI.
Let me toss another name in that hat. George L. Glass Sr. This man was my pastor as a child. he pastored my family for many years and was Pastor Emeritus of my home church until he died. GLG Sr. was PCI in organization. However we dont know what he was in doctrine. On NFCF one of the best threads on that site was about this man and TimLan said he thought he was PCI in doctrine.
I grew up under his ministry and the ministry of those he mentored. I have in the last year talked at length with his son GLG Jr. HE DOESNT KNOW.
I can tell you that he preached the Acts 2:38 message in our church without reservation. But when some PAJC men tried to nail him down asking "Do you believe that a person can go to heaven without the Holy Ghost" his pat answer was "I dont know why anyone would want to go to Heaven without the Holy Ghost"
This is MY heritage. I come from an old PCI church. Coonskinner is dead on.

Well, what bugs me is you hang out on an Apostolic forum - trying to peruade us we are all wrong. Just last night, you said those who disagree with extra-biblical issues should just leave our organization.
Coonskinner is right. You and others claim to be soooooo tolerant, but the proof is in the posts.
Where have I ever said you are wrong??? My point is that if you chafe and squirm under the authority that you voluntarily placed yourself under why spend so much energy that does you no good? Plus you sign something that you may not fully believe. (Notice I said 'may')
I NEVER claimed 'tolerance' and I'm not the typical ex-UPCer that left over facial hair, long skirts, etc. I left due to doctrinal issues.
