Midwest Weather

Midwest weather is rough especially when the furnace is out! 11 degrees this morning with a windchill of ten below. Three inches of blowing snow so far. Nice night for the central furnace to go out! We stayed home from church.

Re: Midwest Weather

We've been staying home! Looks like more than a foot of snow! My husband is out plowing right now. Our renters called last night and said the furnace was out. My husband wasn't going in so he tried to talk them through it and then called a technician who was going to charge over $200.00 but said he'd been working since 8 AM (It was 10:30 PM) when my husband called him and he said if the renters could just go out and get the snow away from the chimney and relight that should do it. He was right! Saved us over $200.00!!!

Funny you should say that! In fact, I went with my wife to our son's church, for their Christmas play. He was awesome! Played a vendor at the market. Gave one of his customers a head slap!

Re: Midwest Weather

The weather outside is frightful.....

We did get to church this morning (19 miles round trip). There was a small amount of snow and ice on the ground and on the roads. We stopped at a local restaurant for Sunday dinner (pork roast with apple and walnut garnish, potatoes and green beans) since we got one meal free because it's my birthday this month. Right now the temperature is around 23 degrees and it is snowing pretty hard with a couple of inches on the ground. We're in for the day, we hope. When the snow stops unless some neighborhood kid comes along and shovels ($20 dollars is the going fee), I will have to work at it in stages to get the driveway and front walkway (from driveway) plus the front porch clear. People here do not shovel the sidewalks down by the street. At my age (73) and with a heart condition and a lung/breathing problem I have to take my time shoveling and do it in several stages.

Re: Midwest Weather

Our attendance was way off today, I'm sure because of the crazy snow outside.
And I have to drive to the airport in Memphis at 3 AM!!! I'm flying to Belize early in the morning - I hope this stuff isn't sticking to the Interstate. The Belizean weather will be a nice change though!
