For New missionaries
by Ken Williams
The growing moral breakdown among evangelical Christians is alarming. Unfortunately, sexual immorality among missionaries is increasing at a frightening rate also. The evangelical church in western societies has been so inundated with sexual stimuli that it is now open to direct attack by Satan in this area. No longer limited to subtle temptations, he now blatantly tempts us to sexual immorality in ways that would have been ineffective only a few years ago.
Each of us is responsible, not only to engage personally in spiritual warfare to resist Satan's sexual temptations, but also to help others to effectively do battle with the world, the flesh and the devil in the sexual area.
These are the first two paragraphs...
I was reading to Chad this morning and this afternoon am going to read it to some others...translating for those that speak Portuguese as I go along.
Here is the site if anyone is interested. I am copying down for my kids and new missionaries and am going to ask permission to officially translate it into Portuguese for national missionaries...
We (all missions) need things like this. I am also sending it to a friend of mine that often has new missionaries working with them in Central America.

Re: For New missionaries
That is simply sad. There are countries where its the norm for both the men and women to have other partners and still have a marriage. China is like that. Here in America we think that Chinese women are very submissive. Well they are not. They are the heads of household.

Re: For New missionaries
I can see where missionaries could easily be tempted in this area - they are so far from home, they think they can remain anonymous. And many other cultures don't really think it's a big deal. I know some missionaries that fell this way. Very sad.

Re: For New missionaries
This is an area that really needs attention....In 40 years I have seen a lot of shipwreck...some of it could have been avoided however I know some no matter what some were taught would have failed...however many good people have fallen prey because they came from weak churches, some already had problems in this area , others had weak backgrounds but others just fell into sin unaware of what was really happening.
The longer I live the more I agree no one should come to the mission field without preparation. Sometimes we oneness folks are so sure we Know all there is to know some would never read a book by someone that is not oneness…
I have spent some time researching and there are several good books that I have run across that should be studied by future candidates for the field.

Re: For New missionaries
While I may not agree with some things I do think we need more instruction or maybe schools of missions to help new missionaries.

Yes, I had some very close friends from Central America that fell into sin and runined their lives and the lives of those around them...It was so sad...so sad...and believe me they had sacrificed so much....

Re: For New missionaries
I agree Sister Alvear with that. I know of many ministers who have made a shipwreck of their faith and discouraged many others. Their children usually don't stay in church Some do but its rare. Satan hates missionaries and sacrificial living.
