um, what? no wait, please do not reply to this post, at least until you go read the "women pastors" thread that ran for like, 200 pages--seriously--started by KBtW. Suffice it to say that there is a valid rebuttal for your post--which even i must admit was chauvinist and over-generalizing in the extreme.

1 Timothy 2:12
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
Its too clear to rebut....folks just arguing and disagreeing with a verse that clearly states what Paul taught.
Ive heard folks for years try to weaken it, but it stands tall when they leave.

ya...no. It stands tall for you because it validates you, possibly, but this makes it no more true than I suffer not a woman to lecture , nor to usurp authority..., and it actually makes it quite a bit less. Nice try, tho! Ps, the "It's too clear to rebut" is strictly your opinion, and a clear sign, at least to me, that the doctrine is just another flawed one born of selfish premises. The translation there is the most chauvinistic one, by far, and i don't blame you for biting at it, but you should at least read the others.
