Re: Marty Ballestero doesn't LIKE facial hair on m
Those who marginalize and condemn others over things that are purely man made traditions are hindering Christ's prayer and desire for the church,
John 17:11
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
We faith cannot be one with all their arbitrary man made commandments.

Why Oneness Pentecostal Church, what they believe mentioned in the same thread as facial hair?

Who's really in sin?

Preach on that. How is your body the temple of the holy ghost yet you put garbage food in it?

Let the bearded ones have their fellowship and then let us shaving men have ours. You can go many paces and nothing will be said, you have plenty of fellowship. So let us have ours and stop trying to make us accept something that we cannot. Let us have our fellowship.
How can two walk together except they agree?

This point of view isn't Christian at all. Would Jesus not fellowship someone cause they had a beard? Give me a break. You non bearders who don't fellowship someone cause they have a beard need to get saved.

I don't think the brothers we are speaking to have that kind of pride though. Most of them realize their face is uglier than sin with or without a beard... jk

I know pastors who have boasted in their standards. How is that not pride?

Re: Marty Ballestero doesn't LIKE facial hair on m
When will people ever realize that the only law that works is the law of the Spirit of life in Jesus living within us? Jesus nailed the letter of the law to the cross, in order to bring forth something new. Jesus became the law, He is now the Law... and it is spirit, and it is life.
When we try and legislate with the letter of the law, all that breeds is Pharisaical-like conduct. However, when we realize that the flesh cannot ever be mandated with the letter of the law, but only by the spirit of Christ, that is when true freedom and liberty, and life will come.
My heart aches for so many untold numbers of dear saints who are still trying to obey the letter of the law, as taught by a man that they hold in high respect. But in fact, the law came to us via the cross, Jesus. It is in his death that the new law of the spirit comes into our lives. When we die unto Christ, we can live in the law of the spirit, and the law of the spirit brings life. It transforms, changes, and brings forth change that the letter of the law never could.
My prayer is that more and more people will begin to awake, and understand that Jesus is the law. He became the law, and His spirit within us leads, guides, teaches, and trains us.
We do need the gifts of the ministry, but we must understand that without the law of the spirit reigning in our lives individually, no matter how many laws come forth from the ministry, even in love, they have no power to transform our flesh.... but the law of the spirit in Christ Jesus does!
Romans 8:1-4
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.

Amen, we need to "walk in" our God given fruit of the Spirit like it is written below...
Gal. 5
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
We dont need the Law, when we are walking in the Spirit. If we bare these fruits, we ARE walking in the Spirit.
Notice there are 9 "fruits" of the Spirit listed, and 9 "gifts" of the Spirit in 1 Cor. (They are both EQUALLY as important to us to have in our lives).

Right! Love produces the fruit of the spirit, and the fruit of the spirit works to keep the flesh from rising up, and ruling, thus making the law of the spirit to be the law in our lives. They work hand in hand.
