Exactly. Instead of addressing the issue of beards "biblically", instead it's easier to take a rabbit trail down the "scorner" path to detract from the fact that there is not an ounce of scripture to back up the "no beards" doctrine.
Why not be honest, and admit it is only a personal preference, and certainly not a heaven/hell issue?
For the record, my personal preference for my husband is to shave, but he has worn a beard off and on, but finds he prefers to be clean shaven himself. It certainly should be a personal preference, and not be a doctrine to use to browbeat folks into heaven or hell.

I don't know where you have been but all the Conservative brothers that posted here have said having a beard is not a sin. They all said it was their preference based upon their experience.
I have a question for you though and it's one that doesn't seem to be getting much attention. Is it a sin for them to require a clean shaven face for their church membership?
If it's not a sin for them to do so then why even make it an issue?

I haven't read through all the posts, to be honest, but in the OP circles I was in, having a beard was certainly a sin, and these conservative folks posting are part of the OP circle I used to be in. I have certainly heard it implied, and indeed outright taught that having a beard is a sin.
When something is a personal preference or conviction, then you do it and keep it as unto the Lord, and don't expect others to follow, because it is something between you and the Lord.
What you are not understanding, is that these brethren that do not like beards, also are imposing their personal preferences and convictions onto others. This is where the problem lies, and from there, it isn't long until a personal preference becomes a "sin" in the congregation, when it never should have even been an issue.

Re: Marty Ballestero doesn't LIKE facial hair on m
My original post was in support of a friend that was being slandered.
Not one word or scripture has been offered by me in support of or against beards
Anyone saying otherwise either can't read or is a liar.

Well they have denied ever preaching or teaching that having a beard was a sin. So I wonder if the dishonesty lies with you or with them. Or I wonder if perhaps they never preached it was a sin but that they had mistakenly made implications in some of their messages that would lead many to believe it was a sin.
Either way we have it on record that they do not believe it is a sin. But why is it that no one answers my question. Is it a sin for them to require members of their congregation to be clean shaven?
By the way I very much understand what the issue is

I could have swore you did but I'd rather take your word for it than go back through 50 pages of posts to try and prove you wrong.

Simply then... do you consider any man having a beard to be in sin?

A pastor should not have that kind of control, IMO. This kind of an issue is a personal preference between the Lord and you.

I most certainly have not. I've been careful not to.
I support good men when they are being scorned. I don't scorn people of different opinions. It's impossible to ever help someone that you've spoken down to in a condescending manner.
As a matter of fact, I've not stated whether or not I'm for or against facial hair!
.....I am against it on women though.....
