Catholic faith supports gay marriage??
Nancy Pelosi: My Catholic Faith ‘Compels’ Me to Support Same-Sex Marriage
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday she supports same-sex marriage because her Catholic faith “compels” her to “be against discrimination of any kind.”

Wonder if she got a call from the Pope ?

Re: Catholic faith supports gay marriage??
The question that should be asked is:
"What is Catholic Faith"

Re: Catholic faith supports gay marriage??
Well, she said HER Catholic faith compels her to support it. It's not the same as saying THE Catholic faith (church) supports it...

Re: Catholic faith supports gay marriage??
I didn't realize how liberal Catholicism had become until I left and see that my relatives have extremely liberal views and are die-hard Catholics.
But, this isn't much different than Mr. Smiley Olsteen saying that "Mormons are Christians." Just love how he smiles when he says that falsity. It looks like we have more trouble than with just the Catholics.
And, this election year will be the first time that many will "willingly" vote for a leader of our country that didn't believe in the basic concept of Christianity - that God is and has always been eternal. We've come a long way, baby.
Quote:
Mormons believe that god was once a created being (Elohim), that he was the most righteous of the created beings on his "earth" and, because of his righteousness, became a god. Elohim has a number of children, the first two are Jesus and Lucifer, or Satan. And, Mormons teach that everyone on earth is also a physical child of Elohim, or god. Mormons further teach that "As we are now, god once was. As god is now, we can become." In other words, if you live a righteous life, you, too, if you are male, and until the 1970s, if you were a white male, could achieve godhood and create your own earth. That is the ultimate goal of the Mormon.
Christians, on the other hand, believe that God has always existed, that He is not a created being. We believe that Jesus is the first-born of God, and that Satan is a created angel, not a child of God, who rebelled against God. Christians hold that Jesus is fully God and was never a created being. From the orthodox Christian side, it is this dichotomy on the nature of God and Christ that makes Mormons, and Muslims, non-Christians.

The Catholic Faith is not the same as Christianity as far as I'm concerned.
It's a cult, like Mormonism, etc.

I am not totally up on the Mormon faith, but didn't Jesus rebuke the disciples when they told him that they had forbidden others to cast out demons in his name?

Emulating "what" the Disciples were doing is totally different than having an opposing view and running with it.
