I think what I have bolded is a good point you have made-- but flies are more attracted to honey than vinegar.

In other words, if you wish engage in dialogue, the "racist" accusation is one sure way to shut it down.
Truth be told, "promoting islamic influence and power" is probably just another talking point that if repeated enough times, most Republicans will believe it.
It's part of the old, "Obama is the boogey-man" affect that we need to help ensure the galvanizing of our party's faithful as we attempt to unseat this popular Democrat in this political season.
