I agree that they both probably have the legal right, but IMO its highly UNlikely that anyone will die due to Christian outrage over the mosque if its built. Also IMO, it's highly LIKELY that more people, mainly our troops, will die due to Muslim outrage over the Koran burning. To me, this makes all the difference in the world.

How is that different that what Americans are doing? One group of extremist Muslims attacked us, and now we are trying to deny an entirely separate, American group of Muslims their right to legally build a cultural center. The extremism is happening on both sides.

It's amazing to me to see the hypocrisy from those who think one is right and the other is wrong! BOTH are inflammatory acts protected by freedom of speech, and I hope officials find a way to prevent both from happening.
And here is Rauf's threat. What he is saying, in essence, is, "If we do not get our way America is in danger."

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf said that if he knew how controversial the project would be, he “never would have done this – not have done something that would create more divisiveness.”

Rauf says he must go ahead with the proposal because "national security now hinges" on it.
I cannot stand someone threatening me in order to get their way and I absolutely cannot stand when someone is using fear as an accessory.

If we are going to live under these continued threats because of everything we do and say, then bring it and get it over with. It's only going to escalate. We've fought two wars that we cannot win because both Afghanistan and Iraq's constitution are written to support barbaric Sharia Law.

If there is a such thing as a "moderate" Islam, Imam Rauf is showing us that this probably is not true. At least, he certainly makes us question it.

Bring it!!!

Re: Burning the Koran

If one truly follows the teaching of Christ, one will love their enemies and love their neighbor as themselves, not kill them and cry death to the infidels.
I like what Christ taught better than what other religions teach in the way one is to treat others.

I don't know. A Muslim was stabbed in New York already, construction equipment was set on fire in Murfreesboro. It will probably escalate from that even the closer we get to mid-term elections, at which point the politicians will not need the votes anymore and will stop mentioning this.

Yeah I don't know either. It's all very sad.

Well, that is not true entirely. Christians do believe that Christ will come back and punish the unbelievers to eternal damnation, at which point He and Christians will rule the world.

Christians are waiting for Christ to do it, whereas Muslim extremists are trying to do it now.

Re: Burning the Koran

A resurrection of condemnation for the wicked it is not the same as cold-blooded murder of those who aren't in Christ. I do not rejoice in the fact that those who are lost will be punished.
