Understand that exactly...happened to me this year too. Think it's in the air or something? LOL

I have kind of kept myself apart from people since I moved to GA 5 years ago. The first 4 years, it was a combination of church things. I didn't know how to be friends with people who weren't apostolics (when I was), and I tended to keep my distance from other people in the church I attended, because I can't NOT be transparent, and I didn't want it known that I was openly questioning/doubting some things.
I recently got a phone call from my oldest friend. We have been friends since 1st grade, and she is the only childhood friend that I am still in touch with. We hadn't talked in over a year. But it was really nice to catch up. So I will add my own:
A real friend is someone that you can not talk to for years, and yet the minute you start talking it's as if no time has passed at all!

No it wasn't, IDK perhaps it was for the best, sometimes relationships get in the way of what God wants to do in our lives.
One person got upset with Keith and I over our mission trips and felt they should go too-when that didn't happen they dropped us like a hot potato. Keith went to bible college with this person and had known them for like 18 yrs.

I'd rather have one or two close friends than a hundred who only acted friendly because of my position, or stance on a particular issue.
Remember, Jesus healed and fed thousands, but only 12 followed Him to the end. And one of them betrayed Him.......
