Sis. Tamor,

When I started this thread, recopying from last year's thread, I
thought of your post and how concerned you had been a year ago
concerning your Mom's condition, after losing your sister and father
to cancer. But God saw fit to bring her through it and how thankful
we are when He shows His great power this way. We serve a most
awesome and powerful God. HE IS Wonderful!

Blessings,

Yes we do and yes He is!!

Thank you for prompting me to revisit that thread. It was neat reading different tributes to our moms.

Re: What Mother's Day Means To Me

This year is weird...I miss my mom so much right now that it seems to be more of who I am than who I really am! If that makes any sense? Things are just so messed up in my life right now and there are times I just feel like having my mom here would make it better. To top it off I went to see my grandmother this morning on the way to the dr who gave me a bad report, and she didnt remember me... It hurt so bad... Seems like every woman who has been huge in my life has been taken from me in the last year and a half and its painful and I know this thread was not for us to whine or cry but to remember. But unfortunately I cant seem to see the good for the bad right now... guess its just time for me to walk away... love yall!

Dear Sis AG I can relate to this. I am in tears reading this thread and remembering my mama. She died in1983 and I was in TX and she in GA I had not seen here in several years before her passing.
Today I can almost hear her voice in my thoughts. Her laughter which was unique and smell her biscuits.
The Lord has been my mother, father ,sister and brother.I miss them all but so happy He is ever near to comfort me and hold me in His loving arms.
God I pray will hold you today and comfort you also.

Re: What Mother's Day Means To Me

I received this in email today and thought it might be appropriate for this thread!

I was blessed have a wonderful mom and I'd like to think I'm a decent mom because of her!

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin .
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,
the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

T, I know what you are going through as my Mom died in 1969 I still miss her. She was my one sure thing in this world. I am the baby of the family and I was just lost. But I remember when I look at some of my children how much of my Mom they have in them. Sorry you are missing your Mom and hope Jesus will wrap you in His arms and just love you. C.

Re: What Mother's Day Means To Me

Sis. Renda,

That is so sweet! Unless you have been a Mom, you would never understand
the depth of the meaning of this poem. Being a Mother is an experience like no
other. The love, joy and so many other emotions you feel when you hold the
miracle God has given, in your arms for the first time, but not the last time. There
are so many firsts that bring us joy!
First cry, first tooth, first step, first words, first day of school, graduation day,
wedding day, first child, and the process starts all over again. First grandchild,
etc.,etc.!! Oh, I love being a MOTHER and Grandmother! How I miss my MOTHER!
