The hospital I work for is nonprofit but it is a business. Is the UPC a charity?

These are ALL wrong. If an organization has to lie to "save face" then it is already in serious trouble. I have always had a policy on our leadership team that we will share the truth at almost all costs. The only exception is confidentiality situations.
We had one of our Sunday School teachers get arrested for child molestation. I was upfront with our church, the police and due to us being truthful, our church never did get connected in the newspapers.
I believe that it is indeed true... "truth will set you free!"

They're wrong for calling themselves a non-profit... there are a lot of 'non-profits' that are like that.

My mother-in-law is a woman who believed that when trouble arises you push it under the carpet. Meaning, let it disappear on it's own. Trouble with that is the bump under the carpet keeps getting larger and larger so you have no choice but to notice it. And what's happening in this time is that they keep pushing negative views under the carpet that not only is the church noticing, but the worldly public is noticing too! Good Post!

Mow, we can hardly compare census of membership criteria and covering up for a child molester now can we?
