So, most who visit, simply do not stick around. However, there is one member, Daddi Warbux, of this small congregation that earns $80 million annually. Should Daddi be tithing $8 million a year (10%) to this church and should Joe Preacher live as a millionaire as a result of this one person's tithing?
What say ye?

Joe Preacher needs to stop preaching to the congregation that it's his responsibility to attract a following, that the whole church is responsible to reach to lost souls. His job is to train those that become saved. If he can't do that and feed them spiritual meat, then maybe he is not supposed to be a pastor.
Daddi Warbux needs to get off his moola and go convert people, hold bible studies and pray for his pastor.

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I see you have a pre-conceived notion about wealthy people and picture them sitting on their "moola"? Is there any bitterness reserved toward the rich?

I would pay out of my pocket to have a golf course built on the church property, which I would play on everyday as a ministry to the lost golfers in our city.
I would brag to my fellow pastors in my section/district that I personally pay all the bills at my small church. After service at campmeeting, I would call my chauffer to bring my limo for the ride home!

Hmmmm. Last time I checked I don't remember reading anything about golf ministry in the Bible!

That's right, you did say that...good thoughts!

JRoc, who should receive the tithes in your opinion?

The scriptures are showing accountability to God and Man also...and Paul show's that he holds himself accountable to man, and he takes pains to make sure he is doing what is right in their eyes.
As for your question on my opinion on who should receive the tithes...the better question would be, who do I think should be doing the distributing of the tithes rather than who should be receiving it...in that regard, the giver should be distributing as he is moved in his/her heart.

I would place MY financial records on the bulletin board without any reluctance whatsoever WITH every member's. I told an inquiring saint that once he never mentioned it again.
In a unnamed city in an unnamed state a church member stood and said he was wondering what was happening to the church money. This pastor lived very modestly though his wife had inherited a good deal but hardly anyone knows that fact. The pastor said alright tonight I will read the record. That night the pastor brought every church record all the way back to the 40's. He said now first since this Bro. is concerned I want to read HIS tithing record. The man made mega bucks but had paid $20 a week in tithes for years. Guess what the discussion was over. Most folks who are OVERLY concerned think the preacher is as dishonest as they are.
New churches are built, maintained, functions function where does this come from one might ask?

This is your opinion. Every man does what is right in their own sight. What does the Bible say about who the tithes go to?

I agree with you here but Paul is taking the initiative to be accountable, the saints are not making him accountable by controlling the funds. It's a minor point that I tried to make in my last post to you.
