There are several Mothers Day threads going so wasn't quite sure where to put this but since it's a song I decided to put it here.
We've sung this song for Mothers Day several years now. It was originally done by the Talleys I think.
MAMA TAUGHT ME SO WELL
1. In our house we had this rule
Everybody went to Sunday School.
My mama took us every week without fail.
For she believed that if she'd train us
By and by the Lord would save us.
Mama loved God -- and Mama taught me so well.
CHORUS:
Mama taught me so well
About the power and the love of Jesus.
She told me 'bout a tree on a hill
Where a Saviour died for me.
She told me all about heaven
And she warned me about hell.
And who's to say where I'd be today
If Mama hadn't taught me so well.
2. As I grew up and I grew older
Love for God and church grew colder.
But my dear Mama kept on praying for me.
And by His grace and thorugh her tears
I returned after all these years.
I'm so thankful Mama taught me so well.
BRIDGE:
Mama never claimed to have the best education
But the wisdom she had was more than this world could see.
And I knew the words she spoke were true revelation
For God had given her the Master's Degree.
