I love you brother. I appreciate your opinion and discussion of the issues concerning the coming election.

Two issues on the above. First of all if Mr. Clinton had stopped drilling and the states of 7-10 years were true we would have more oil on the market right now...about 10 years later.

Secondly, the 7-10 estimates are government estimates and are probably accurate if the government was doing the drilling. However, according to top oil executives their estimates that they could have the oil to market within 2 years. When there is profit on the table things move.

More oil would help, but the amount that we would get from drilling in ANWR or near the Florida Everglades is not enough to help significantly.
yes and no. First of all we have got to get ourselves free from foreign oil. Right now we are oil dependent. So while we transition to alternative fuels and try to lower our dependence on oil we need to bring more non-foreign oil to the market.

There is a ton of oil in anwar and while not the total answer there is sufficient quantities to make a difference. There are also large deposits of the coasts of Florida and California and it is estimated that the there is more oil in the Rockies than in Saudia and a couple of other oil countries combined.

We have more than sufficient to make a HUGE difference.

The current suggestions are akin to slapping a band aid on a gangrenous wound.
Even if you were right, which you are totally wrong, the difference is enough to move the markets which affect the price because the markets don't move on actually supplies, but expectations of supply.

Quote:
Decrease our absolute need for oil by investing to perfect the technology for alternative fuel sources that are already at our finger tips.
While you are right we need to do this and it would be good to lower our overall oil consumption, the US is not in a position to move on a dime. There is going to be a transition. By utilizing all sources we can make the transition, but oil production is part the process.

Quote:
Wind power to produce electricity and hydrogen cells to propel cars are two ides that can revolutionize our country's way of life. We can definitely reap the fruit of our labor quicker than 7 years if we invest in these two areas now.
Sure, but again there is a transition period. Estimates are that wind power can produce maybe 20%, the technology for hydrogen cells have a way to go before they become real viable.

The other aspect of drilling now, while we desperately need the oil prices to come down is the positive impact drilling will have on our economy. Jobs are created, taxes are paid, which brings stimulation to the overall economy.

the above statement "Two issues on the above. First of all if Mr. Clinton had stopped drilling..." Should read... "...if Mr. Clinton hadn't stopped the drilling legislation in Anwar and the statistics of 7-10 years were true..."

Sorry for the horrible typo

Re: More reasons to vote Obama!

It just might be that if Wade vs Roe (which was based on a lie, confessed
by the Roe person, who now speaks against abortion), would be overturned,
God might be willing to bring answers to some of the other issues.

I, personally don't look for too many resolutions to the other issues until this
tragic decision of 1973 is overturned. It may get pretty bad, but God can
turn up the heat in some areas until those who name the name of Christ and
called themselves His followers are WILLING to do what is right!

A little chorus in a Theo Harris hymnbook called "Hornets" went like this:

If a nest of wild hornets were brought to this room,
And the critters allowed to go free.
You would not need urging to make yourself scarce,
You'd want to get out, don't you see.

He will not compel you to go, O, No,
He will not compel you to go.
He will not compel you to go 'gainst your will,
He'll just make you willing to go!

When I was a child and didn't want to do what my father instructed me to
do, he had a way of helping me to be willing to do his will. It was in the form
of a keen, stinging little branch. My strong will couldn't stand against the
pain of that stinging switch. I still didn't want to, but I DID get willing.

My God-given father knew what was best for me as a godly parent. I did not
as a child. Perhaps some were never disciplined to learn the difference
between the father's will and their will. Some may never had fathers to
discipline them. I had a earthly father who taught me the things about the
Heavenly Father. Dad pointed to Him often. Never to himself. Thank you,
Daddy!

Our Heavenly Father gives us the opportunity as His children to do what is
right and is patient. He will send someone to tell us the truth and then we
are accountable for the truth entrusted to us. But when we willingly (our own
will) continue to go against HIS Will (WORD), He KNOWS HOW and WHAT it
will take to break our will and be willing to obey HIS WILL (WORD).

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and under-
standing. The fear of man bringeth a snare. (trap)

I will fear no evil for THOU art with me!

Blessings,

Falla39

Re: More reasons to vote Obama!

God favors the Rightous, the wise.

Check it out.

Ecclesiastes 10:2--

"The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool to the left."

Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
Prov. 14:34

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
Psalms 33:12, in part.

Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss:
From vict'ry unto vict'ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished
And Christ is Lord indeed.

Stand up for Jesus
Ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not, it must not suffer loss.

You know what I think is funny? We have found so many different ways of saying the same thing, but we still sound like broken records, repeating the same thing over and over again. Hehehehehehehe! I wonder what we will find to go 'round and 'round over after the election? I hope it isn't standards!!!

Re: More reasons to vote Obama!

Now, Bro. Rico, you know I love you AND your family. I really, really do!!!

There are times that others have to stand in the GAP:
a: a break in a barrier (as a wall, hedge, or line of military defense.

Being on my grandfather's farm as a child, I recall what was called a gap.
(The open space between two posts) where an enemy can slip through, if
someone isn't there to keep them out. Just anyone can't guard the gate
because they do not recognize who the enemy is.

Just a senior saint, mother, grandmother trying to help guard the gate (gap) to
keep the enemy out until someone else takes my watch.

Blessings,

Falla39

Sister, I said "we", not "you." We're all saying the same things over and over again, using different words.
