Re: Resolution 3 Massacre Begins in South Texas Di
May God help the UPCI to stop this madness, and come to see Christ and His people. I hate to use such wording, but 'cult' seems to be somewhat appropriate here.

Re: Resolution 3 Massacre Begins in South Texas Di
There was a pastor in my home town that was a DS with the UPCI and our church, not being part of that group, knew several ministers that were UPCI and would ask them to come preach for us. There were some that would ask this DS and he would tell them no they could not come preach. Others would just come and not ask him. They generally 'got in trouble' if he found out. We were not in competetion with him. We were not trying to steal his saints. If he saw you out he would always be friendly and treat you like a 'brother in Christ' but turn your back and watch out.

Why would they have to ask??? AA has fellowshipped UPCI for decades???
Was your pastor ever former UPCI? I don't believe so ... and if not then ...why would they need to ask their DS?
I am all for submission ... but sheesh .... my DS wasn't my daddy.

There is something I honestly don't understand. Most of you guys are not in the UPC. Why do and should you care? I could be wrong but it doesn't appear to affect you. I know you probably have friends and family in the UPC as I do but I could care less. Let the UPC go where it may.

my home town had NO AA churches. It was ALJC and no the pastor was never UPC at anytime. Who knows why they do some of the stupid things they do. It is like a man in our current church that asks the pastors permission to go on vacation. I asked our pastor what he thinks about it. He said let me put it to you like this, if you want to go on vacation you go. I don't ask your permission to take mine you don't need mine to take yours.
But this guy insists on going to the pastor before leaving every time to see if it is okay.

Re: Resolution 3 Massacre Begins in South Texas Di
Well, with our church our Pastor didn't even know he was under question. We were having a UPC minister come and speak and had spent a lot of money on TV advertisement and yard signs. The DS actually called the visiting speaker and informed him that we were under question and that if he preached in our church the Mississippi District would take his license. The minister was from the east coast. He didn't even call our pastor to let him know.
He then received a letter the next week saying we were under question over two months after our pastor had turned in his card.
What is very interesting is that the man who informed the district that we were having the UPC minister speak is now going to teach at CLC!!! I just find it hard to believe that CLC would let a man of this type preach at their church much less become a faculty member at the college.
